Just been shopping around a little.. 2000, 30 foot, E450 with 7.3 powerstroke. What's one of these weigh? What can u safely tow? Any guesstimates regarding fuel economy?

My car is over 3k so plus trailer I'm around 5k open, or 8k plus with a small enclosed.

Any other experience or opinions are appreciated.

Andrew

They were intercooled for the 99 model year, which were built starting in late 98.

A 2000 model will have none of the shortcoming of the 99-99.5 model trucks, and will have the features of the 99.5-2003 trucks (the 6.0 debuted in 2003.5).

The only issue that I can think of off the top of my head is the 4R100 in the 2000 model year had a mechanical diode that was prone to failure, but it should have forged metal rods which will be helpful. I have a 2002 Powerstroke, and while it has no mechanical diode, it does have powdered metal rods in the engine.

For more Powerstroke info than you can shake a stick at, go to www.thedieselstop.com.
