Is there a tool for installing these clips on the body?

Talking the revel clips that hold the molding. Bought some new ones and they are super tight getting on the stud, anyone have similar problem and might have a good way of installing without scratching new paint?

run a couple layers of masking tape or a thin piece of plastic under the clip to prevent chipping, and push down on the bottom of the clip with snap-ring pliers.

Got them on and tried installing the rear trim but it is super tight ended up bending one side! Front went on great with original clips. Bought them off ebay, but is there anyone that makes better clips or want to sell some originals??
