The car has been in chassis shop for nearly 16 months now, but at least there is some progress being made lately so I thought I would share a few photos. Hope I can get the car done before I am too old to get over the door bars! LOL Any passengers will need to be limber also, as their side is not easier. Rear end is not yet mounted, but the 4-link, wishbone, and anti-roll bar were all being constructed while I was there. Fun work around the dash, and yes it can still be removed. ![](http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo264/bptracing/bird%20progress/P1010450a.jpg) I was impressed with the mid-plate mount - looks quite solid! ![](http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo264/bptracing/bird%20progress/P1010445a.jpg) Even has room for a headliner - (barely) ![](http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo264/bptracing/bird%20progress/P1010451a.jpg)

Nice work. But, I have a question. Going that far into the build, IMO it would have been cleaner to run the a-pillar bars down in front of the dash instead of behind it---unless I am missing something I don't know about.
Someday, just like you, I would like to see your car done too, I think its going to be badA**!

To be honest, I was not consulted on the dash/a-pillar bar. The chassis builder took some creative initiative on that one. I had specifically taken a used windshield to him so he could be sure to get the bar in the proper place. Apparently he decided it would hack the dash up too much to try and get it to work that way, and this was his answer to the problem.
At first I was not too wild about it, but it is starting to grow on me. Helps make it look more like a street car than full chassis car. I will know more after I get a seat mounted and find out how much room I have to get my feet in with the bar in its current location.
Originally, I was helping in the shop while he was building my car, but lately I have not been able to be there on the days he has to work on it. So to keep the progress going, he has made a few decisions with out consulting me.
Since I am only certifying to 8.50, I had originally planned to leave off the forward upper portion of the door X bar. Apparently he forgot that conversation. Again, I will see how easy it is to get in the car before I decide if it needs to be changed.

The motor is the easy part, I have had the parts for it since '07 when I started planning the car! Had it mocked together at one point in time, but currently have everything back in the boxes till needed.
