I've heard the 440 HEMI a few times myself.

If I had a 70-over 426 Hemi or one of the Stage V conversions I'd call it a 440 Hemi.

There's this guy with a gremlin and 6 banger, runs 13.65 I think.
I am dialed 9.59, so we race and afterwards he says "what mph do you run?" I say 139 trying not to look at his timeslip. (it has all the info for both of us) He says hmmm I'll do it different next time.
I walk away thinking I caught him at 1000'....yea I would do it different also if I were him. Don

I'll never forget a guy at Dragway42, he was dialed in at 10.50, I was dialed 9.90, we got to talking about his combo, he can clearly see my dial-in since he's standing by my windshield and he says "My car pins you in the seat harder than anything you've ever driven"! I was speechless, didn't want to insult him.

With the '71 Charger, I seem to get the guys that come up and say "I had a car just like that, but it was (insert color), and was a 4-door

With the '69 Coronet R/T Convertible, usually I just get asked what type of car it is. When I tell them, I usually get some version of "I din't know Dodge made convertibles."

I get that with the Duster. The strangest one was the guy who said he had one just like it, but it was a Road Runner.

Yeah, everyone around here thinks my duster is a nova....I just tell them the hood scoop is pointed in the right direction so it can't be a nova!

Funny you mention that, I had a +070 Hemi, but always refered to it as a Hemi.
But most often when this discussion is had they mean from the factory.

It never fails I always have some kid walk up and ask. “You spray nitrous?” I always Tell them “This is a BB MOPAR, nitrous is for chevys and mustangs.” I was working on getting the RED ready to run one day and these two teenagers walk up and one of them asked, “What’s it do zero to sixty?”

I hear the "reaction time" thing all the time, i just laugh anymore, I always got accused of running nitrous in my duster because it ran in the 10s & looked very tame .

But what i truely loved was when the Bowtie guys would tell there buddies "you don't want any part of that mopar", it'll kick your ass .

Another is the guy who has the 9 second car, i'd say where is it , Oh its at home being fixed, I'd always get them when i'd say (what is the MPH or 60ft.), then they shut up , now on accation this was the same guy telling the other street racers if they get a better reaction time they WILL run faster .
