looking to paint my 69 power steering gear and looking for ideas on what color to paint it. I have seen black,silver colors what is right ? Or what looks really nice ? I was Thinking about painting it Gun Metal ? Has Anyone seen that and how does that look ? Car Does have TTI exhaust with the polished pipes, working on a 69 roadrunner thanks

I was confused on this subject as well. Last weekend I painted mine a stainless steel color. Its tough for me to see mine under the big elephant so its close enough for me and it looks pretty good.

I thought the finish depended on year and bodystyle. I think my Oct. 69 Challenger is natural. It's boxed up so I can't recall for sure. However, seems like most of the Ebody boxes I have seen done by Alan Gallant and Roger Gibson are natural or Painted a (natural) metal.  Joe

Really ?? The power steering boxes on most ALL cars I have seen were natural finish,never black. Even the NOS police box I got in 93 was natural finish. The pumps were black.

My 69 Road runner St louis vert was an original power steering box never been out of the car, and it is painted black.

Yes - Really - And NOS parts don't count. I am talking about original parts on original cars.
