I think Galen or maybe Dave Patik .May know of a complete originating dealer 69 charger 500 list like the daytona shippment list wing warriors put out furnished by Anthony Young to give you a idea where the car sold from .I did get a copy of all 69 charger 500s sold in NJ a while back.As to these membership lists these were done by Jim Radke and the wing warriors. And later the DSAC superbird club would have these as part of there newsletters. And later updated to cars known and condition and accounting of existing cars.I dont have alot of 69 charger 500 info around as I never owning one personally. But now of some in my area. Also was looking at the red on red AC car from Missouri city near Houston many years ago like in the 80-s .Before Randy P got it and sold to the guy in Tomball TX that has it.Anyone in TX remember this car .Newsletters and cars Ive been incontact with over the years by seeing at shows or selling parts to.Keeps me up to date. But these cars keep changing hands to stay up and current with.Join one of the 2 wingcar clubs and submitt your info .Or contact them with any info about a wingcar you might be buying.Might save you alot of grief .You say you have friends with 2 cars not submitted. But actually anyone that knows the XX29 or RM23 can add the L-440 J-426 for 69 daytona U-44 V-440-6 or R 426 hemi for superbird and applies to any collector mopar vin prefix and run it through DMV in 50 states .As we seen and heard of people getting asking to sell letters in the mail .Also all superbird daytona 500 vin numbers are pretty much known by factory paperwork as shippments for daytona and nascar lists for the superbird. These to can be run through DMV as most states have a database with no time limits on a vehicle .And as collector cars are registerd and insured with speciality car companys .That puts that into right into the DMV database. So in theory any or all of these can take place

I'm a member of both clubs, the Winged Warriors and the Daytona-Superbird.. So, maybe something else will creep up and surface. But, I do know the car was sold new at Cheyenne Dodge in Cheyenne, WY. Interesting thing though I found out from the third owner who claims to be the nephew of the original owner who's passed away that the car was sold new with a big "DODGE" decal on the side, similiar to the "Plymouth" on 'Birds.... I guess I need to send everything and pay Galin and/or ask for the list or confirm some details on mine, if he has them.. Or, I can see what he has for the Charger 500's and see if he's going to do an article in the future for either one of the clubs again........ Without a broadcast sheet, I pretty much know everything one can know based on fendertag info. But, you never know........... I'm still puzzled by the new claims by him that there were well over 500 C500's made instead of the 392 previously attached to C500 production figures... Why would MaMopar make more than they needed to, especially on a machine that lost money for them? pondering,,, Troy

Ive been to librarys and micofilmed many actual rare mopar selling dealers ad for every wingcar and other desirable cars. And sometime compared stock numbers from ad to car at shows Ive seen paperwork for. And found that actual car and gave the guy the ad for his car.But never saw one or found one for a 69 charger 500.Thats not that much on the 500-s outhere except for newsletter submitted material. And what turns up from time to .Ive looked in the 2 dodge charger dealer data books.Only seen in the one the charger 500 as only available with the hemi.but they came with 440s.So you cant trust all factory info

If I had a wing car and my name was on your list with the vin and where I lived,I would be major pissed. There are more cars out there but people won't list them with the clubs because of things like this. The list might be old but there are names there that still have cars. Alot of these cars don't change hands. I was at a wing car national meet and there was a full list of the cars, who had them and where they live for all to see. This info is nice to see for honest people but there are alot of crooks watching also.
Registering your car with us does have some advantages, as we can share some history when it is present - and frequently it is. We don't charge you anything for it either. A recent example is a car considered for purchase advertised with 8k miles. A letter in our files revealed a previous owner reset the odometer after restoration in 1984.
What I can tell you about information gathering that we do here at the club is: We will not publish your name or address attached to a VIN on any kind of a registry list.
The old list in the Winged Warriors newsletter with owner names and cities was done up through about 1979. At the time, it was a non-issue. A high percentage of those cars have since changed hands.
Curiously, the Ford Talladega and Cyclone Spoiler Registry we inherited lists owner name and city. Not one person has asked to be removed or complained about being "out there". In fact, I get regular requests for the next printing for new owners names to be added where cars have changed hands. So go figure!
Myself, I tend to agree that we should err on the side of caution when revealing who owns what - even when bantering here on the board, particularly if that person is not aware of it.

Well it looks as if I'm going to have to post a want add in both the newsletters for a Daytona/500. I was hoping that one of the cars that i already new about before having some available money would pan out. But for the current moment that isn't looking likely, as both the owners of the 500's are kind of hesitent about selling currently. Which is fine, if I had one of those cars i'd never sell it so I can't copmlain. So I suppose my want add will read, Wanted Daytona or 500, 4 speed, any color combination, and any condition considered. If its a project car that is fine, but i'd prefer a done car that is driveable.
On the hunt for my dad's old cars. They include 5 Daytona's, 2 superbirds, and 2 500's. Very interested in finding the Red on Red Daytona, and Q5 Charger 500, and have found both cars.

Is there any info on the Y4 Hemi Charger 500 that had been in the Pittsburgh area back in the mid 80's? I looked at this car back then. I had actually gone to look at a '66 Hemi Coronet 500 and passed this car on the way in. Stopped to inquire on the '69 500 after passing on the '66 500 and found that it could be bought, they were wanting $1500.00 . I passed on this 500 too due to it having a 318 in place of the Hemi 69sunroof. Good luck with your search, hope something turns up for you.

That daytona sold new from Glaser motors in Vineland NJ.And spent alot of time near Wildwood NJ a shore town called Rio Grande at delsea dr known as route 47 .And route 9.It was in a gas station and guy lived near by .The prior owner moved to Canada I think after selling it to Rick Boen who drove it to TX.It has the back window falling in from rust in and around the window plug.

I know of other wingcars. But there owners are presently involved and getting parts and making a effort and making progress. This car when I last saw it. Was as it may still be currently laying dormant. So its worth a reach out and see.

Hey troy, have you got the 440 back up and running in the 500? I had read some of a thread that you were having some problems with it since the refreshing of the motor.

I'm still working on a few leads for various Daytona's that are supposedly around that need some work. So far the total of cars that i'm chasing is 3 daytona's and 3 500's. 1 of the 500's is done, and driveable, but none of the other cars are even assembled or near being completed. So hopefully I'll be able to at least get a price for one of those cars, and be able to come up with close to that amount of money.

So the search continue's. I talked to John earlier this week, on the phone, and I was telling him about a few of the 500's i'm talking to the owners about. I would definately go after the HEMI 500, as its a very interesting car to have. but yet again its not a Daytona, which is still priority #1 to me. So for now i'm hoping I find a daytona for sale in the same kind of price range, that way I don't regret anything. I mean I'm not sure what I would regret about a HEMI 4 speed car, other than it doesn't have a wing and a nose cone.
