Would love to see a real Black Daytona. I know that Jim in Missouri has one that is undergoing resto, but haven't had a chance to check it out in person yet.

Speaking of black Daytonas, MoparTony and I had the Aussie Daytona out last night at a local cruise and I decided to give Danny Jennings a call and see if he wanted to bring the black 440 Daytona or the green Hemi 500 out, Neither car has seen the light of day in a couple years now. Danny said the 500 had no brakes and the Daytona's tires are shot. The Daytona is a black with white tail and interior, power window, 4-speed, 4.10 geared, Super Track Pak car with just over 20,000 miles on it. The bummer is that it's stored in a damp garage and is starting to have some rust issues. Danny, maybe ya oughta give Danny a call and see if he'll sell it to ya...

Is this the same Green HEMI 500 that dave jones used to own in the early 80's? Because I believe that gentleman also had a black daytona. Well I think he had a green daytona to begin with, then wound up with a black daytona. Unless its another HEMI green 500, and a different black daytona.
Then again would have to figure out what kind of money he is asking before i'd call him up and talk. Then again come to think of it, I don't even know the guy so makes it even harder to just call him up and try to buy his car.

On the hunt for my dad's old cars. They include 5 Daytona's, 2 superbirds, and 2 500's. Very interested in finding the Red on Red Daytona, and Q5 Charger 500, and have found both cars.

Yup, Danny and Kathy Jennings had a F6 with white interior Daytona when I first met them in 1981. That car was lost in a warehouse fire in 1984. The pics are elsewhere in this thread. They bought the green Hemi 500 from Dave Jones that same year. They bought the black Daytona in late 1984/early 1985 when someone responded to a wanted ad they had placed after the green Daytona was lost. Danny, I can call Danny and ask him if him and his wife would want to sell the black Daytona. I kinda doubt that they would but it really seems like they have lost interest in Mopars so ya never know. If you are interested, I will call him.

I have been perusing the yenko.net forums (insert vulgar comment here) for the last few days, and I saw a post about a few cars that an enthusiast in North Carolina had run across. Here's his description:

Quote:

I went to pick up an engine and tranny for my 66 Nova this weekend and found quite a treat. This guy had a couple dozen cars and trucks out in a field, most of which were just parts cars. There were 3 cars under some trees covered by blue tarps. I ask what those were and he told me they were not for sale but he would show them to me anyway. One was a 69 mustang 428 cobra jet, another mustang Boss 429 which he has had since it was new, and a Superbird with 10K miles on it!!! I almost forgot about buying that engine and tranny by then! He told me something interesting about the 429 Boss that I didn't know. This was one of the first couple hundred that came out and it has a hydraulic cam in it and a relatively small carb. He said when this car was new it really wasn't all that fast. Just thought that was interesting. If you see the 409 intake I posted for sale, that is where I got it. He had lots of heads, blocks, and carbs. That was a fun day at the "junk yard"! Kevin

A 10K mile 'Bird?! Why are the Chevy guys finding these things? Does anyone in NC or surrounding areas know of such a car? It would be hard to mistake it for another, considering it is sitting next to a Boss 429 Mustang. Of course, it could be a Super Bee, since most uneducated people confuse the two and call them Superbirds. I'm not saying he is stupid, just that it is a common mistake when someone doesn't know about Mopars. I truly hope it is a real Superbird. The owner's claims of the Boss being slow and having a small carb uphold the common thoughts of Bosses, so it may actually be a real Boss 429. The on-going sagas of our beloved Winged Warriors continue...

It seems lately as I read and belong to the yenko.net site. The chevy guys seem to trip over the superbirds. Like the way hurricanes only hit trailerparks and also the way UFO sitings only occur in certains area and with certain types of people. NC seems to be chocked full of wingcars in recluse. But seriously these wing cars gotta be out there somewhere!

The black daytona you posted a pic of wingcars is beautiful. Oh and John, yeah if you actually thought that there would be a legitimate shot at getting it, then go ahead and give them a call for me. Or if they would rather talk to me about it, you can give them my number. Or I can call them. I've been calling about every daytona I have seen for sale lately. However the one in last months MCG I called about the day I got the issue, and the car was already sold. The silver one in there, I haven't got ahold of the seller yet, and then for the 2 500's that were for sale in there never got ahold of either seller either.

The black daytona actual F8 green car was sent to me by a moparts user Dave in canada. Its a place to start by calling all advertised daytona for sale. You stand a better chance of find one unknown or advertised by placing wanted ads or putting the word out.Ive yet to buy any car that was a advertised car.I find them somehow .I got offered the canada rough daytona for $10.000 car this way.A club member to club member connection.I recall hearing maybe Rick E in KY with a green superbird has a project daytona. Some club member would sell a car to another known club member .And not put it out in a ad.So try and use all available resources.I might have some contact info on cars I know off .Andhelped them get strated or sold parts to.And ask them to save my number .If you ever change you mind and want to move it .I got people always looking for wingcar projects or parts .I would check with Dave Patik Sue george of winged warriors Doug Schellinger of DSAC Roger Gibson Galen and see if they have any leeds for you.Even try your dads old mopar and wingcar friends .My friend John moparts user JohnTPR .Had flyers made up and distributed at every mopar event wanted daytona. And looked at a few.Until a guy I knew near me in Cinnaminson NJ Ron Penska decided to sell his F6 daytona. After John seen him and his car at carlisle. There was even 2 garaged dusty wingcars seen on here in a garage posted by EV2 Demon while back they were his uncles cars I think the cars were even in Indiana.I will see what I come across in TX

If I had a wing car and my name was on your list with the vin and where I lived,I would be major pissed. There are more cars out there but people won't list them with the clubs because of things like this. The list might be old but there are names there that still have cars. Alot of these cars don't change hands. I was at a wing car national meet and there was a full list of the cars, who had them and where they live for all to see. This info is nice to see for honest people but there are alot of crooks watching also.

I know what your saying but these lists.Started in the earlier club days to account for cars and club member to member contact info. Before these cars got quite popular where you have to worry. They also provide a window into the past and owners historys .As I had a superbird which is now parts. And this car is what you would call now red flagged RM23VOA179697.If it was to rebodied or for sale .This information is known about it.Is on these registrys.I also had a inquiry about a guy looking into a superbird purchase.Luckily I had a old owner contact info to furnish to this guy.As this car was wrecked heavily and sectioned. And he passed on this superbird after finding out how it was before. And nowadays as these cars are so in high demand they need to have a data base of such info on hand to provide.Uninformed purchasers. The info is out there and can be obtained. Like a gun being purchased. You have no control of how it will be used

Exactly what Wingcars said. These lists aren't being used for malicious intents, they are merely a record of the locations, conditions, and histories of these prized cars. By no means were the lists ever written to give up the goose on them. They were written merely to try to have a database for reference when one changes hands or surfaces after a long hiatus. If I was ever in the market for a wing car, I would want to know if it led a nice life or got beat on, wrecked, burned, stolen, hacked to bits, and then rebodied when the values skyrocketed. There are crooks everywhere, and if they want to, they will find info through other means because it is public information. I respect your opinion BigBird. I just hope you can see it from the standpoint of trying to protect these cars and their owners/future owners.

As 69GTX said Id want to know about a cars past conditions.

Hey Dave,,,
See the info sheet you have there for the C500's.. Is that from your database or from somewhere else?
Have any info on one that was from Cheyenne, WY? That's where my C500 sold new......

69SESunroof any details on finding that C500? I've read somewhere on the thread here that you had the lowdown on maybe two?....

Thats what so great about America....You can have a opinion and so can I. Having the list for all to view is like selling a gun to a convicted criminal....he might not use it....I agree that a listing of all the cars is a good thing. They just need to be held closer to the chest. Why put your bank account on the net just to prove you have one..It's about the same to me..As it stands I know 2 owners that will not list thier cars for the reason that I have mentioned..

I agree 100% with WingCars and 69HemiGTX, if the bad folks want the info, they'll get it. BigBird, you're letting excess paranoia get the better of you by all means...
