Well, I will be off to Kingman first to get the car from the Header shop, then off to Vegas for KYB and Randy to paint it..

Should be about 6 weeks, knowing these guys.. So I will miss the first Division race, but it should look real nice for The MATS 2011...

Heck, I don't even know what they are going to do.. I told them to SURPRISE ME...

Glad to hear you are finally get the last part of the accident behind you by putting on new paint. I am sure it will look killer. I am not gonna make the first divisional either. Until we get a contract on a house I will probably sit them all out. Not sure how much the wife is gonna cost me buying a new house

I trust Kenny.. He's old school..

The paint on the car now was the same deal.. I just let him do his thing..

I told him the colors and then have fun..

He calls and asks questions to get a feel of things as he progresses to make sure I am going to like it..

Got the car.. Headers are done..

He says it will make 35-40 more HP.. The old headers were really small, long, and just plain ---- BAD..

Hey.. They were 20 years old, and were for my original 452" 906 head deal..

I'm personally not buying it, but we'll see..

Now off to Kenny Youngblood..

I'll post pics of the new headers..

Thanks Rick..

The car raced this last season.. But just a few races.. Went in the upper 8's and ran well, but it had a horrible paint, trying to match the back half..

I just couldn't take it anymore..

Al is right.. It will be totally new now, and the old reminders of the accident will be gone forever.. Except for that branch we kept that was stuck under the hood..

Stopped by REF I'm assuming Chris. Would have been fun to skip out of work and meet with you in Kingman. How's Vegas Al? My family is headed up there tomorrow. Guess they felt they didn't stimulate the economy enough at Christmas (MALL!!).

Greg @ REF doesn't build headers . He is an artist and sculptures exhaust of the highest quality. He has been bulding all my headers for over 15 years now.

Chucko.. Greg is definitely an artist. In my wildest dreams, I wouldn't believe he could have done these in 8 hours.. Especially alone..

He has done some real nice cars.. He did Phil Dion's, Chris Constanza (B1CUDA), All Bob Mazzolini's stuff, some of the SS/AH guys too.. He was doing a set of A/SA Max Wedge stuff there too.

BTW.. They are 2 1/4" for 10"s and 2 3/8" for 20" 30" total tube length, and 5" Lemons Collectors..

Well, it's been 6 weeks, and the paint is far from complete.. But there has been some very nice improvements. The doors actually open and close without lifting and slamming them. New hood, scoop, fuel access door, and wing adjustment. Also got my hands on some fair grille surrounds. They may just look better than okay.

Also, while sanding and grinding away at cracks in the old paint, he found the stuff just about falling off from the violent shaking of the wreck in 2007. Glad I decided to start over with this.

It needs to warm up.. He doesn't want to continue until the temps get warmer.. That shouldn't be much longer in Vegas..

Opt for the Jet Hot....I have heard some bad stories about the Nitro Plate. Unless they have made improvements in the past 5 years or so.

Nitroplate did mine three years ago, the customer service was great. They still look great, the coating is tough too. I hung one of the collectors on the trailer and hair lipped it. I straightened it with a hammer on a anvil horn and just knew the coating would come off, it didn't even crack that I could see. They will be the only ones to do my coating .
