I have probably spent my lunch break for 3 days looking at pictures on this thread and I still don't think I've seen them all!

This is amazing material!

Keep up the good work.

My Daytona is almost back together, should have it at the Mopower Madness show in Naperville, IL this weekend, although it now needs a brake booster, and that won't be done in time, so it goes for a trailer ride.

Howdy Dave! There sure is a lot of intensely cool stuff in this thread, ain't there? Glad to hear the Daytona is coming along nicely. Good luck with it and hope to see it at one of the events!

Yup, between Mike, Benny and Jim, I think they knew where just about every wing car within 500 miles was!

Speaking of HEMI Daytona's, i also forgot to mention this one. I don't know which car it was, but a F6 green HEMI Daytona up in Canada was burned in the early 80's, around like 81 or so. As my dad was working out a deal to trade a 69 Boss 429 Mustang 4 speed, and a HEMI 70 charger for this HEMI daytona. That wound up being burnt when the building it was being stored in caught fire. I'll ask my dad again if he remembers any more details, but for now that is all i remember of the story.

OneBad has pics of a warehouse fire in MI about that time that destroyed a lot of cars, including a green Daytona.

Yup, I thought I had posted them on this thread but just in case I didn't, here are two pics of the F6 Daytona back in the day followed by two pics of it after the fire. By the way, the first two pics of the Daytona are from the very first all-Mopar show I ever went to in April, 1981 at what used to be Colony Chrysler-Plymouth in Plymouth, Michigan. I got the red, white and blue Superbird the next month and the rest is history.

Oh, and hey Dave, you should see if ol' Benny will scan in some of them pics from his photo albums and post em in this thread!

Wow, here i leave this thread one night, come back the next night to see 27 more replies. I am begining to think that this thread will not ever die. Speaking of that, i think i'll spend some more time this weekend scanning in some more pics I have.
I do have more pics of Mike A place in Tenn, and I have a few of Jim Waltons in KY, and a handful of Benny's cars on film also. Will also try to swing up by a friend of mine's place who happens to have a nice collection of cars currently. NOt all wing cars, but almost all Mopars. He told me today he just picked up a LimeLight 440-6 4 speed Superbird, bench seat car. So i'll head up there and check it out. I know he just got rid of his B5 blue, auto on column, 35,000 survivor superbird, with dealer installed a/c.

On the hunt for my dad's old cars. They include 5 Daytona's, 2 superbirds, and 2 500's. Very interested in finding the Red on Red Daytona, and Q5 Charger 500, and have found both cars.

I'll make sure to post some pics after I go visit him. He has quite a collection of HEMI Cuda's and Challengers to go along with his Superbird. Well last time I was there he had 2 HEMI cuda's, and 2 HEMI challenger's, 2 67 HEMI GTX's, and a HEMI 500. along with probably 25 other various cars that i'd love to own, and that are to him nice cars but just not that impressive.
The one thing i've always liked about him, is he has great rare cars, but he isn't afraid to take them out and drive them. The last time I was up there we went out cruising in his 71 HEMI cuda, and were lighting them up on the country roads.

I sold that one it pictured it was RM23UOA174597 4 speed dana car.Got it in Houston TX .It had a few owners like Ruben Garcia.Andy Skwera of Houston TX who brought it in I think from Beaumont or Orange TX.He would only sell the wing if I got him a 68 RT charger.I drove the superbird back to NJ as a keeper. And was pursued to sell it to a wanting Jim Baptiste of Marlton NJ that called the club or your dad to verify the car I had been offered $7000.00 for .And just bought in TX for $4000.To see if the car was all corect as I told him.You father at same time had a daytona offered to Jim.But Jim was hot on superbirds.Jim sold the car to a guy in the area in later years .I seen the car once again with a added sixpack on it at Bill Stechs Glassboro NJ mopar show .When I got it it was rcently painted and the scoops were missing and grille frame .But got all missing parts from Les Bowman

This yellow superbird.Got the wrecked superbird parts and salvagables. It was a rolling body RM23UOA166242.Was never a matching numbers car when I had it. Later down the road I found some if its newest owners from time to time in FL and VA.And I let them in on it.And had all pictures and papers as proof to prove.I bought it as a body. Both pictures are in attachment

I just found this web site and spent many hours reading this one thread!!! Wow - lots of history, so I thought I would add some personal bits. I have a Superbird that I'm in the process of restoring. I've been able to trace the history backwards through the 3 previous owners and the original dealer. The first owner told me the car had been used as a pace car at Sunset Speedway near Barrie, Ontario, Canada. I finally tracked down the owner of the track back in the 70's and he had a 34 year old color 8x10 photo of the car with him driving it!!!!!

My car was used as a pace car at this speedway for 1970 and 1971 as shown in the previous post. In 1972, it was repainted in Labbats Brewing gold color. I found an original racing program from 1972 that showed the car (unfortunately only B&W)

Welcome to Moparts, RealWing, and thank you for posting those pics and your story. I especially like the dent under the nose. That just proves that most people couldn't judge how far they were from something before they hit it in these cars. It's good to see that we get more members every day.

The first owner who bought it from the dealership didnt like Limelight, so he had the dealer paint it Plum Crazy. The first owner found a color 8x10 photo of the car.
