Bottle I have is labeled Ultimate Ink Last time I needed it I bought it thru a local print / sign shop called sign-o-rama, unfortunately there are none of these near me anymore. but I did find it at one in Evansville In that said she could get it Last edited by gtx6970; 01/13/11 12:29 PM. What were the diminsions/font on your stamps? Same as above? I could not find the correct font anywhere on the computer. I actually put a LOT of time into making these. I made correctly looking font numbers by hand 8 inches tall and shunk them on my copier until they were sized perfectly to an original, then I copied all the numbers together in a group spacing them identically to an original stamping.

As I recall a late build St. Louis car I had had the 2936680 box I'm going to venture to say it is a late/early build thing. Cars built prior to Jan 1st had a #681 and cars after had a #680.

I have noticed that the screw head markings on them are different between the #680 and #681 boxes also. I paint the black metal cover plate with a gloss black enamel with a little bit of flattening agent mixed in so it isn't overly glossy.

Remember that today's paints have had 40 years of refinements to make them glossier. The "gloss black" you will get at the paint store is formulated for maximum shine because they assume you are using it on the exterior of a car. If you want it to get just the right sheen of gloss you need to SLIGHTLY dull it down some with some flattening agent.

If they are coded black (should be on your fender tag) that is exterior gloss enamel.....same stuff they would paint the car with. The UDF color was applied before the body color then masked off. The attached is a pic of the original black off of my Daytona. The Chargers had a pad covering the UDF so it wasn't painted there...A Bee, Runner etc. would be. 6417520-DSC02786ss1.jpg (251 downloads)
