I just typed it into http://www.mymopar.com/qmet.htm which is a 1/4 mile performance calculator and it says around 12.2s but that is probably an absolute perfect pass.

Hello, has anyone ran their 6.1 hemi conversion e body at the strip? Just curious what a stock 6.1 will run in a 3900lb e body. 12.5s?
3900# e body?!? Isn't that really heavy-especially with a 6.1? I think the stock weight on a B/RB E body is 3400-the 6.1 weighs at least 150# less than the big block so my guess would be 3250# with a 6.1.
Stock big block can be up there. I think a 6.1 e-body would be around 3400-3600 pounds.

I am planning on my cuda to be 3200 lbs with me in it and full of fuel. Its gonna have a RMS coil over suspension , Aluminum gen3 Hemi Hemi, T56 Transmission ,8 3/4 rear , lightweight seats ect. ect. I think I should be able to reach my goal. Remeber the 6.1 is slightly lighter than a small block .
True but a ALum head and intake Small block should be the same weight if not lighter. Please keep us posted on you rbuild i am heading in the direction you are. With my Challenger.
RMS suspension, T/A Hood, I was thinking of going the 6.4 L route but i am waiting to see how much a production crate engine would cost the current 6.4 motor is way out in left field right now.

The 3900lb was with me in it. My 70 RT SE was just under 3700lbs. But thats with a stock 383, ac and power everything including windows. How much does a crate 6.1 hemi weigh?

I tried asking that question and the best I could get was 720lbs crated. Someone told me that the 5.7L HEMI weighs less than a 340. So it's somewhere around there. I would guess around the weight of a 340 or 360 or even less maybe.

12.5s?
Should be about right. Maybe better with slicks and optimum rear suspension.
My '71 Barrauda weighed 3,260 with smallblock/904 and 3,440 with BB/727. I'd guess the 6.1 would be real close to the smallblock in weight.

According to one of the magazines that did the swap, the 6.1 is about 125#'s lighter than the SMALL BLOCK (add more for a big block). Approximate weights of different E/B bodies are in the tech archives.
if i remember a 5.7 weighs 485#

Took my stock 6.1 SRT8 6speed Challenger to the chassis dyno this weekend...layed down 389 rwhp and 385 rwtq. This car ran 13.51 at 107 in the August heat in Florida. The next car up on the dyno was a new 392 Challenger automatic...layed down a 428 rwhp and 425 rwtq. This car had 600 or so miles on it and the owner showed me his time slip of 12.91 at 110 mph. This is with a 2 seconds plus 60 ft time. Both cars ran on stock tires and weigh close to 4200lbs. I would guess that a 70 E-body at 3500 lbs with a a decent tire should go 12.50s or quicker even with Betty White driving!!!!!!!! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif)
