I think he was pulling my leg though about selling the car. As he was telling me that no matter what a person offered his wife wouldn't sell the car. She loves it, and I can't blame her, its a daytona after all.

yeah i took a ton of pictures of it, about 3 rolls of film. Just have to take them to get them developed now. I'm planning on sending them overseas to my dad for him to view. By the way the car was on the cover of the Paddocks book back in 1997-98. So if you have the Paddock book from then you have seen the car, painted a semi orange with a white wing, no stripe.

I have the paddock book with daytona on the cover.And here it is .I have wondered about this car with red interior and no tail stripe no front wheel opening mouldings .And appeared to have either a orange package tray through the pass side picture.As the way the light and color comes in .Wasnt sure if it had a correct backwindow plug.But know we can put this car among the living daytona.Thanks to Danny follow up pursuit for searching out his dads old cars.Also Rik Smits Of Indiana pacers lime green 70 RT coronet is on the next to cover page

Yeah it is definately among the living. It is XX29L9B409045. There is another picture of the car on page 132 i believe in the book also. With a little write up of how he bought it off my dad in 1985 and how it was disassembled. Well it wasn't completely disassembled as i've posted some pics of what it looked like when he sold it. But anyways, its done now, and very driveable, even though he says he hasn't driven it in the past 4 years. He is missing the wheel modlings, he says he doesn't have a set that is up to par with the car. Then again the car needs some body work done to it still, he didn't get it finished before he painted the car. It still has all the origional sheet metal that was on the car. The only things he changed he said was the heads, and the intake, and air cleaner, as he says they were missing when he got the car off my dad.

That book I have didnt have any further info on the 69 daytona .Except for the cover info.Cover car courtesy of Bruce & Chris Carmicheal of Knightstown IN.Maybe the additional daytona info will be in there newer catalog

I will have to look on page 139 for more on that daytonas info.I found a old ad where Doug S dad had and was selling a hemi superbird body with a 440.Wonder where this car is at.Or if its a known car. Ad is from april 80

Dad sold the Hemi Bird in summer of '80. Drove it to New Jersey to deliver it to the buyer. I think it sold for $5200. Hemi Bird (running a 440), Lemon Twist, black bucket int w/auto. It was a solid car.

I've seen the HEMI Daytona pictures before, but haven't ever heard any more news about the car or what its doing now. And as far as the white daytona is going, are they sure that isn't the 1st daytona that was produced and shipped to canada? wasn't it a white car? red stripe?

Thanks Dave the red car has a 414XXX vin .Quailfying it as a 426 daytona.Though it looks like a converted 69 500.The white 70 clone should sell the wingcar parts to the red car.Maybe these 2 cars and owners should get together and swap parts
