My buddy just pro charged his 09 challenger srt8 and put a blower cam in it to along with headers and 3" exhaust a different tune on it and a boosta pump. He went to a dyno shop tuned it and it has 580rwhp which is pretty good. His problem is when we went to the track the best he could get out of the car was 12.88@111mph it still has the stock suspension on it and tires to. He thinks it should be in the high 11s. Whats his problem. and its a 6 speed to. any help would be great. Thanks

Thanks. No its still the stock clutch he thinks its slipping and plans to upgrade this winter.
Not trying to be negative but if that car gets some sticky tires, that clutch would not stand a chance with that kind of power and 4000lbs.
Neither will the rear half shafts.

They will run if you do it right. Yes they're heavy. The cars are no heavier than an E55 (automatic trans only) and those will trip 12.4 and 12.5 all day long in stock trim with a good launch.
The clutch needs to be upgraded and stickier tires will be needed. Get abusive and it will need half shafts too.
There are MUCH faster Challengers out there.

my stock 08 srt8 runs 13.30's at 107 in drive with the TC on??
I would be looking at the clutch for that weak mile per hour. I did 2010 6 speed a few months back and it made 497 to the wheels @6lbs and was at the limit of fuel. 580 is real stout with just those couple of changes.

Sounds to me like he needs a Hop Not kit. Running that much power he needs it, it will wheel hop all over the place. Hop Not kit and sticky tires will do it. Mine puts 500rwhp and I need to get a hop not kit as the wheel hop is tremendous. check it out: www.hopnot.net

The other serious question most people skip over is the driver mod. Can he drive the car? 95% of people in modern performance cars don't launch hard, and dont shift flat footed. My best buddies 04 Cobra run around a full second faster than most heavier modified cobras, because most people simply cant drive them well. 04 Cobra, Chip, Pulley, and Drag Radials. 11.78 @ 117, 1.65 60'
11.48 @ 120 with a 1.80 60' 318, stock 1.88 heads, stock 904, Pump Gas, 13 lbs of boost.
9.94 @ 134, 318 on pump gas, 14 lbs w/ Eddies, transbrake 727, 3600 lbs, 3.54 gear and 28's.

You gave up too soon. Lots of 4600 lb LX/LC cars running 10's and 9's and Procharger being the fastest of them all. I surely won't give up as easily as you did

Sorry to tell him, but they just don't run much quicker. The car is just too heavy. The 111 mph trap speed tells a lot. I could only run 112 mph with my Procharged Challenger.... Have since sold that car for a new "off-make" muscle car that is a bit easier to get to run....
Yeah, I probably did give up on the car too soon. I do think it had a bit more potential. The whiney Getrag rear diff and the notchy, grindy 2nd gear with the Tremec 6060 helped me make up my mind....

Something is WAY off. 580 RWHP @ ~4600 lbs race weight to me means almost a 120 mph trap. I don't really care what the ET is...his trap is WAY off.
There are slightly modified SRT's running faster traps with simple bolt-ons with ~400 RWHP.
I hope he gets it figured out. FWIW...I've seen many Procharged SRT's running crappy traps. I've also seen some really haul. The 580 RWHP tells me it isn't the tune...which is typically the case.
