John, it is yellow, and not the Malcom car. It had a good story as I remember my dad talking about it. But I just can't find the letter that goes with it. It's here somewhere...

Keep looking Doug! It seems like all these wing cars have a pretty cool story behind em!

By the way, I got my package from ya today! Thanks a bunch! I can't wait to watch it and to put the color coordinated decals on the wingers!

Doug, that's too cool! It would be neat if some of the members of the club got on here and chimed in with some of their own pics! I never imagined this thread would go on for so long and so many cool pics and stories would be posted! Moparts totally rocks!

John, are you coming to Talladega? We're trying to get the gang of guest speakers that we had in Auburn Hills in 2001. George Wallace is coming back for sure. His trying to get Bill Wright as he is local. Also Charlie Gray (Ford Talladega guy) is coming and he is bringing reinforcements this time. We're trying to get some drivers too.

Doug, I will most definitely be in Talladega. I made a reservation a few weeks back. I'll most likely be bringing the Aussie Daytona. Sounds way cool on the guest speakers! I know it's like six months off yet but I already can't wait!

Man wish I could make it to the show in talledega. However that is the same day that my wife booked us flights to go over to Thailand to visit my parents. So I guess i'll miss out on this big show, and hopefully i'll make it to the next big one down there. which will probably be what another 5 years or so? that would be okay though as by that time my son would be old enough to enjoy the cars too.

On the hunt for my dad's old cars. They include 5 Daytona's, 2 superbirds, and 2 500's. Very interested in finding the Red on Red Daytona, and Q5 Charger 500, and have found both cars.

yeah and i'm hoping that by the time of a next big show like that I will also have either a wing car or at least a 69 500 to take. I mean its fun going to a show without a car just to drool. However I find it much more fun with a car, not so much to show but more to cruise around after the show with the others.

On the hunt for my dad's old cars. They include 5 Daytona's, 2 superbirds, and 2 500's. Very interested in finding the Red on Red Daytona, and Q5 Charger 500, and have found both cars.

Hey 69, you're not alone. I can't go because I will have just gotten to my next unit, so leave will not be an option. I'll have to wait until 09 also. Now that I think about it, I'll be a civilian again at that time, provided I don't get re-activated. Who knows, maybe I'll have an aero car by then, too.

Was hoping to go see the R4 red on red daytona today but he wasn't home. Man i'm getting anxious here, every weekend i'm free he is busy, and then vise versa. one of these days i'll see the car.

I remember that car from Winona Minnesota from buying a late 70 early 80s cars magazine back in the day that featured it.On the back it said you was just given the bird.It was 6 pack bench column automatic car.Wheres it at nowadays??

Not sure where it is now but will see if I can find out. Don Dennis, who did the lettering on the car, still lives in Winona and will see if
he know what happened to it.

Thanks for checking up on this superbird.I had been in Canyon Falls MN before a few years back helping someone move to there .But didnt scope around in Winona area.Where I read that car was from .But know of a superbird that went from TX thats in Glydon MN

Cool pictures Mike! I remember that white Bird from the winged car meet in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1989. Some folks drove over for the meet from Detroit to try and sell that Superbird. I called this guy I know that wanted another Superbird really bad after selling his Superbird in 1985. He raced out to Grand Rapids to see it (getting a speeding ticket from the Michigan State Police and hemmed and hawed as he always did and the next thing ya knew. ol' Wayne had bought the Bird and was taking it back home to Kansas with him!

somebody correct me if i'm wrong here, but isn't the nascar replica car that Wayne has a HEMI Daytona? I know its a real daytona, but I thought it was a true HEMI daytona too.
