I don't remember what color it was, but I know the color that it is now, is not the original color, When Gary bought it, it was one of the standard "70s colors" probably was a green color car...article said he raced it that way a few years before painting it.
I was new to Moparts in the fall of '03. I was going to meet Gary at Carlisle that summer (summer of '04). There was a post...a challenge if you will, about who could eat the most white castles. I really wanted my chance to take him down!
he is missed around here for sure, never forgotten.

in short...a friend and inspiration to us all.
He was a Bloomfield police officer, built and raced his challenger, made it his "dream" a 10 second street car.
killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver while arresting ANOTHER drunk driver.
his username here was UNLAWFUL. a play on his profession as a cop.
many of us never met him, many of us were very close friends with him. we all miss him.
I had exchanged PMs with him here, and we were going to meet up at the 04 carlisle show. he was taken in the spring of 04 before I had the opportunity to meet him.

"UNLAWFL" was actually the name of the Gary's Challenger. Given to Gary by his police officer coworkers one day when he drove it to work. It was therefore referred to as such by them thereafter. And that's how the car was plated.
Last I knew of, the car was being shown and cared for by "Russ", a close friend.
Gary was a great guy. He truly cared for people and took time for many in his daily travels.
How he was taken out and the way it was portrayed and handled by the media and legal system was a travesty. People that knew him know the truth.

That's the car Bob, I got a ride in it with Gary when it was still green with the silver stripe, very cool........
yes very cool in deed !
does anyone know what year Gary bought the car ? i cant remember who bought it from me that was 20 years ago man where does the time go
but a funny story when i sold it to the guy, he brought his son and i took them for a test drive in the Challenger,i drove out of town nice and slow and just a good cruise for about 5 miles or so BS'ing with the guy about the car, i stop at a cross road to turn it around, so i stop on the road just like im at the track, bring it up on the convertor and did about a 100 ft. long smokey burn out in it and the son sitting in the back seat just went nuts ( screaming at the father to buy it for him ) i will never forget that !
im sure Gary had alot of good memorys with the car also Bob
