The whole idea is to keep as much of the wires and plumbing hidden in the engine compartment for a much cleaner look. I plan on Hot Rod Black under the hood , with the aluminum engine and the shaker scoop it should keep your focus on the motor.

Spent yesterday installing fenders and grille, as usual the factory fenders are way off. I plane on shaving the bumper and sinking the ends into the fenders. But for now this is where she sits

I mocked the console out of some carboard first.

I used some 6061 T-6 18 gauge Aluminum for the console. I wanted to sink the shifter boot into the console like the factory did. I made room for cup holders and a stereo GPS unit. I plan on having it covered in black leather like the dash cluster

Very nice. So how exactly do you use the cardboard mock-up to get the proper shape aluminum you want?

Very simple metal fab shortcut, I get the shape with the cardboard first then transfer the pattern to the sheet metal.I make modifications as I go. I always keep alot of old cereal boxes laying around here because we are always doing alot of fabrication .It makes life a lot easier then the dreaded trial and error and gets you in the ballbark much faster.

I had to close up the gap around the license Plate, I made a greasable sliding plate holder so I can access the fuel filler.

The whole assembly has 2 stainless tubes that have rare earth magents to hold it closed

I couldnt use the original license plate light so I made a much slimmer design from Aluminum with LED lights .
