bob good job hows the out side body look paint wise ? you going buff out or repaint ? i say take all the hemi orange paint and rust off the engine put it in zip lock bag sell it on ebay
There is some fadeing, nicks and chips on the sides. We will clean it up real good then decide. We may offer the rust, paint and old undercoat for sale.Better yet we will donate it to those concerned that we will not do the car justice.

Hey Bob, I just looked and the 66 Hemi has pretty good HP factor. That car would make a good B/SA.
Heck I know where a '66 Hemi stick car is that has all ready been . If I recall correctly it has like 143 miles on speedo. I would start with that one first. They only made like 17 stick cars. It has been a race car from day one, well from day 143 miles.

Hey Bob, Keep up the good work When I saw the post on the 1st page I got fired up for more pics but alas just more technical By the way I will ask again-what lead him to park it after only driving it 11,000 miles?
416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out. 11.06 open headers----so far!!

Mike, I'm sorry but other than the larger more basic items I completely disagree with you on that one, I've discovered and learned about new details with almost every survivor I have seen. To say "everything" has been documented already is simply not the case at all!
Scott , isn't true that no two cars were built the same because they were built by a human and depending on the time of the day , day of the week and high high they might have been ? So if this is the case then you would fill volumes with the data from each and every one built.

To some degree, yes. But you already knew that so why ask here?

To demostrate that there are no set standard for documentation for one vehicle to the next for many quirks, singularity ,extras or omission of parts.I know of a positive documented Hemi car with out torque boxes for one example. Each car has it's own uniquness and history, just the same as old race cars that claim high value from their race heritage. An example: a 67 Hemi post car compared to Judy Lilly's(Pappy Fry) post car.Same car different history.

this is why i dont post that much on here as usual a bunch of people that have to voice the negative opinions and act like they know better that the owner of the car..... BG im sure the car will be outstanding when done, and of course it will look so much better than a "survivor" Who really cares about runs in the engine compartment and overspray on the floor..bla bla bla this is the RACE SECTION....
....BAD A$$ STREET CAR.....

EXACTLY why I am promoting that we try to learn and record as much detail as possible from all surviving examples before the details (being either unique or "typical" as compared to other examples already known) are lost in restoration efforts, pretty simple.

But Scott you said you've never seen the blue circle around the WT or the pad not painted , how can it be proved that's the way it rolled off the assembly line and if it can be proved then what if this is the ONLY known example ?
I'm asking myself why too ...

Proven? I never said anything about proving anything? All I've maintained here is that every bit of new information gathered is important (to some) and adds another piece to the overall big picture of how these cars were assembled. There are, and will likely always remain, a wide variety of "one off" detail examples that deffy explaination unless further similar examples surface that might add to the puzzle or somehow validate the previous "one offs". The cool part for me would be to find another surviving example with the same blue circle.
Anyway, nothing else needs to be said from me. I'm sure you all get where I'm comming from whether you agree with my opinions or not, it's all good

May it's a "Blue Oval"Ask HemiFred,"The Shadow Knows"Somethings still baffle and defy even those who claim to be experts. There is no way of explaining the unexplainable, like why did Fred pee in cars? While working the grease rack at our local Chrysler/Plymouth dealership in my youth,a doctor in our local town bought a new Imperial 4 door hard top.Everytime he crossed the rail road tracks in town it made a loud clunking sound. After frustrating the master mechanic and the factory reps for months I had the oppertunity to service this particular car. While on the rack I was afixing the service sticker to the door jam and slammed the door and heard the clunk, clunk.I revoved the trim panel between the doors and found a Coke bottle hanging on a wire, insde was a note which read"ha you finally found it"This made the car a special"one of one coke bottle car"
