The top picture is my car in 1992 just after getting an extra leaf put on each side, with no re-arch and new bushings. The springs were previously very flat and the wheel arches cut into my 275's when I drove.

The bottom picture is how it sits in 2010. I've never had any issues with it, guess it depends on the overall condition of the leafs.

guy told me a t monster mopar that it cost 300 or more now from a shop he knew. about the cost of a new set plus or minus. If your not going for a concourse points restoration, get the new ones and have 30 yrs of no worry!!

OK subject back on the horizon. I have a set on Hemi/HD springs from a 69 A12 car. The springs were removed in the early days sometime in 1970 or 71? Very low mileage car. Superstock springs were put in and the spings sat around for 40 years. Despite the rest period they are a little crusty and will need to be rebuilt. I am looking for help deciding how to "restore" them.

I did speak to a local reputable spring shop the other day, and they suggested the following;

1. Disassemble springs
2.Blast
3.Paint all pieces
4. Drop off for work

They will;

1. Re-arche
2.Replace bushing
3.Reassemble

for about $65.00 per side labor

Anyone have pictures or other preferred methods, suggestions? Will blasting hurt the metal/spring strength

Thanks,
Ed

I would think these springs probably have plenty of life left in them.
