I'm showing #1 & #3 would be getting fire & w the "point" of the pentastar connector which is #1 @ 9o'clock. #2 would be at the top and #3 would be to it's right (still on top) and #4 would be on the bottom under #2 and #5 would be to its right on the bottom under #3. 4&5 go to the dist. #2 to the coil pri neg. #1 (the point) is the main power to the ECU and #3 is the "start" pin on a 5 pinner. we've r&r'd everything, We gotta find the "open".

looking at my haynes i've got conflicting schematics one diagram shows exactly how you said. and the big one in the back of the book shows 5 to the BR and 4 to coil negative. 2 and 3 to the distributor connector. and 1 to the BR

Points or pertronix never a better way. Got sick of Mopar ELEC due to all the crap that makes it fail. Now I use it as backup and never had to in years on three cars

I'm going through each and every wire on the ignition circuit and will figure this out!!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me should pin 4 or 5 on the ECU have power with ignition to start or run??? the ohms check showed good. and the other 3 had power.

did that..... no sparky.

do we have fire at the coil primary positive terminal w the key turned to "start".

yes ... lower voltage in run and more in start (this is how it should be ...correct?)

4 & 5 are connected to the dist & would have no power. they only rec a slight (seperate from the coil/ballast) self generated signal from the dist which makes the ECU ground the #2 wire from the coil neg pri thru the ECU case itself to ground on the fender. EDIT yes lower voltage in run as it's going thru the ballast & being reduced. Backing up a bit, you have fire at the coil positive and neg primaries in start and morse Code grounding the neg to ground did not make the coil secondary wire 1/4" from ground produce a spark?? If so that sounds like the coil secondary is out (no continuity). Do you have a volt/ohm meter? If so take all wires off of the coil and set the ohm scale to K (x 1000) so if you get (9) you have 9000 ohms. check between the center terminal and either one of the small primary terminals but it hit me that we just replaced the coil (& everything else). Stay on it we'll get it

I felt that all the way over here. Any idea on which connection was dirty? Now all you need to do is to purchase a set of pulleys & get her on the road
