Wow Doug, that last pic was just too cool. I haven't seen that pic in many, many years. It was taken sometime in the summer of 1981. That's a shot of the ol' red, white and blue Bird with my late father behind the wheel. Dad really loved the Bird and really enjoyed driving it. Man, I sure do miss him a lot...

A buddy of mine came by the shop today with an old photo album. These two pics were taken at an Ontario gas station in the late 70's....hmmmm....wonder where this Daytona is now? Hemi decal on the nose cone....Hemi door emblems popped off.He did not record the VIN # and does not remember if it was a 4spd or auto.Anybody have any ideas??

In the mid 80's Duncan found this 53,000 mile automatic Daytona in a back yard in Toronto....he paid 5 or 6K Canadian.Said he had driven by it a 1000 times but with the wing off and tarped up he thought it was a boat.He pulled into a Beckers store with his Superbird and a woman said..."I've got a car just like that in my backyard".It's apparently in Florida now.

FuryMan, way cool pictures! I'd like to have seen what the rest of the Daytona looked like that the nose was off of. It looked to have been somewhat custom painted. The Hemi Daytona was also really cool. Just another car back in the day!

Alright, I am finally adding to the superbird/daytona frenzy. The daytona pictured comes to the Woodward Dream Cruise every year. Last year, while living in the dorms at Central Michigan University, I had a picture of '68 Charger RT on my door. A girl walked by and noticed it was a Charger. We got talking about MoPars, and come to find out, it's her dad's daytona I see every year! She was also on the show "Hemming's: My Classic Car." It is a small world indeed. I was also promised a ride in it this year...

This 69 daytona was found 3 miles from my house this year. Was over there recently Sat doing some work here the pictures.Prior owner did some disassembly years ago and sold it to guy near me Who had it stored in WI.And brought it into NJ.Real close to me where I live and met the current owner..After my friend Brian who heads up the local mopar club in our area got a call from this new mopar resident.Called looking for charger parts and said it was for a 69 daytona. And gave me his number. I went over to see it and got the job of putting it back together for the road. This car has perfect nose and excellant trunk and floors and 1/4 and interior.factory undercoating 440 4 speed dana buckets tach F6 green all numbers matching buildsheet fender tag.Only parts missing is a pillars rear window trim and left side wing brace.car was previously owned by Saluda NC A G Hipp in 1979.all original parts intake and manifold and valve covers are in trunk .Except for the carb.Got a 68 race hemi tach drive distributor in it and holley carb. And the starts of someone changing the color underhood to petty blue. And had sanded down the straight body with orig F6 paint/and planned to petty blue it

I believe I have some pictures of the car as found coming out of the shed.
Whatever happened to Duncan? He was a nice guy.

Duncan Ackerman. From Toronto. Had the Daytona and a real nice B5 Bird with a white interior. I believe he sold the both.
