Why not go Hemi with 500+ inches with an aftermarket block?
That thought has crossed my mind, but Hemis take up even more room.

Well I do plan on installing an Alterkation front end. That should free up some space. I want to run full exhaust to make the car as quiet as possible. Maybe I will just build the Keith Black/Indy combo. Maybe go with a 540. With a big inter-cooler 2000hp is easy. The shop that builds my engine just finished a pump gas 427TT SB Chevy that made 1800 hp.
I call BS on 1800hp with 427ci on pump gas....maybe E-85 but that still would be a killer spreadport exhaust motor.
2000 hp on pump gas will be next to impossible on even a big 500+ cube motor....exempting E-85.
Todd at Goodwin Competition Racing Engines built the engine. I am going to see if I can get a copy of the dyno sheet. I thought 1800hp sounded high too, but I doubt He lied to me. They build a lot of high end engines.
I emailed Todd last night and his exact words were 2320hp on race gas, and 1830hp on 93 octane with massive inter-cooler. Just because you can't do it doesn't mean he can't. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif)

I would be very cautious about your choice of fuel pumps. One A-1000 won't reliably support 1000hp at the fuel pressure you are going to need. An excellent street/strip pump in my opinion, would be magnafuel.
