Dave - When did you buy the Superbird? Also, in my notes on the car it says the owner claimed it had a nitrous oxide system on it, but would not open the hood...

I believe the owner worked at the service station or had a friend that did.

I have heard of a Superbird or 2 over in Oz too, but have not seen any pics yet (just word of mouth at the moment) so do not know if they are real or not... but hopefully can get some info on them soon as well..

I know alot of various E and B body R/T's (and plane janes) and such went to Oz in the 80's, so who knows what all might be floating around.

Cool pics Jeff! I seem to remember hearing that an orange Bird and an orange Daytona recently left England for New Zealand. I wonder if these are those two cars. Maybe Alex will see this and be able to shed some light on it.

I'll find out today the VIN's to the Daytona and Superbird that went to New Zealand. and they are the same cars that used to reside in England if anyone happens to know the Vin's of them from there.

On the hunt for my dad's old cars. They include 5 Daytona's, 2 superbirds, and 2 500's. Very interested in finding the Red on Red Daytona, and Q5 Charger 500, and have found both cars.

They are the cars that were in England

They belong to a real nice guy called John, I know the Bird well, it is a 440+6 4 speed car, it has a short motor by Barton, matching numbers, the motor was toast, Ray saved the block and put all the good stuff inside, it(the car) was shipped to England with the block sat in the bay, I pulled it out and built it up then fitted it in and tuned it. The car was sold to John just before he left for New Zealand.

The Daytona was shipped over here about two years ago by John who sourced it in the States, I do not have much info on that car other than it is fantastic condition, it is a 4bbl auto from memory.

Nice to see he has them out and about, he did tell me the Daytona was going to be his daily drive !

All this talk of exported wings got me thinking. I know a restorer who ended up with a 440/4bbl, 4spd Bird from Australia. It was B5 with a black interior. He was going to send a 71 440+6 Cuda over for the trade after it was restored. I saw this pic (attached) and I think this could be the Cuda. It was listed on a photo page by the owner, and he says he is in Oz. It is exactly how it was equipped when I saw it before the resto, plus it still has a Texas plate in the next pic (see next post). Interesting...

Hey wingcars. that article was from '75? Must have been original or previous owner. Those pics were taken in '79. Trying to clarify.

The Daytona is the old Cal Gas propane powered Daytona. It wound up in Missouri in the mid-70's. The propane equipment was removed. It was then crashed pretty good in the front end. Sold to an owner in California who restored it and sold it to John. Pretty car.

Going for the record, longest running thread LOL

What do guy's know about the two superbirds that Bobby Hamilton owns, ones a Hemi car and I think the other is 440/6 that he has for his wife

I beleive he also still owns a 70 Hemi road runner.
