You have a 4:10 carrier so the steepest you can go is 4:30. It's series 3 carrier. The series 4 carrier is for a 4:56 and steeper. I believe a spacer is available to use a series 4 gear on a series 3 carrier but don't know if that's good to do or not. I don't know if a spool makes a difference or not. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong................... Or... What Doctor Diff said.

Richmond will do a run of 5.57 Pro Gears about every 2-3 years, when they
get enough on back order. They make/made them for Mark Williams.

Maybe they quit all together now, since most SS/HA cars run
some variation of the 9".

I have a set of 5.57 Dana 60 gears from Mark Williams made by Richmond.

Would like a 6.50 Pro Gear to add to the collection.

It seems to me there is a set in the 4.10 range (Strange) that will fit the 4 series carrier. Is that correct?

I was thinking of putting 4.10 gears in my car. It has the Strange 5-series spool in it now. Good to know I could reuse this spool if I go with Richmond 4.10 standard gears for footbrake.

Doc,
Do these used gears look like Richmond (5-series) or Spicer/Dana (3-series)?

Thanks Doc. I guess that is what the "DANA" stamping means.

Maybe I will buy a 3-series spool and bearings to setup these gears and keep the 5-series spool setup with my current gears.

I bought a new dana60 yrs ago from chassis engineering. They put in "special" 4.10s with a spool that would let me switch to 4.56s later. Did I get those Richmond gears ?
