After reading sledgehammers post I thought I would post these picks.

Just had the engine freshened up at a machine shop and at start up this happened.

I did get a sponsor out of the deal beside getting a new engine.

Look at the pics and see if you can see why it failed.I know there's a lot of great engine builders on this site that will get it right away.

I am not really an engine builder but are 2 of the pistons not in the correct holes?

Oops, doesn't look like ex.in.in.ex.ex.in.in.ex. to me. Wow, that hurts.

Wow,
A place in the business of building engines put those pistons in like that? That is a rookie mistake.
I am surprise they could even turn the motor over by hand after putting the heads on and setting up the valvetrain.

Good to hear they stood behind their work and took care of you.

Well that is an easy one to diagnose.

It was just a brain fart,he just finished a hemi and put my engine together the same.

The 4 middle holes were in the wrong sides.

I don't think a Hemi is like that at all.

End result was valve reliefs on holes 3-5 and 4-6 were installed wrong.
