i can not see how the wheelie bars make the hit too hard. lowering them will not not make the problem go away, just aid(sp word) it

aldough i have never worked on a car this fast with ladderbars. so maybe i should just shut up.

they dont make the "hit to hard"

The timing of when they hit ...is wrong.
.and the amount of leverage that's interupted when they hit is too much..
it is upsetting whats goin on...

it needs a tad softer compression settings
in the shock..i suspect ditto on rebound...
it needs to apply the wheelie bars sooner and more gradually...

just my opinion.

I agree. That is why at this point they are as high as I am willing to run them. They allow a two foot wheel stand as it is. Too much leverage with a 30 inch ladder bar has led to very high shock settings. Another problem, and one not easily solved is the height of the Center of gravity. I believe too high of a c/g creates a situation where the front of the car can rise too quickly and is hard to slow down without upsetting weight transfer. If I could lower the back of the car, I would, but the tubs hit the tires as it is. The car looks to be too high down track also. I can keep limiting the front travel a touch at a time, and maybe that will improve things.

can you raise the instant center?

Raising the instant center would increase leverage, which looks to be the wrong direction. I have plenty of hit now. Actually If I could lower it without upsetting the speed of front end rise, I would. But in the past lowering the ladder bar increased the speed that the front would rise to the point it changed where it left the beams. I was almost leaving vertically, and had a .02 change in vehicle reaction time.

Just watched your video about 10 times.
Watching the start.
You are spinning off the start and hitting the bars and then getting traction and hitting them again.

If you hold traction your front end won't come down as hard.Instead you will carry it.

I would lower the tire pressure 1/4 lb at a time till you stop your tire spin.
Get a digital gauge.

i take that back about raising the bars.
just realized you cant move the ic forward without moving it too much upward.

Can you move some weight around?

i guess only thing to do when you cant move the ic to where you want it is to move weight around wich relocates the center of gravity and helps the rotational torque.

I realy think your car needs fourlink.

I do have travel limiters. I plan on slowing the front down with shock and by limiting total travel on the limiter, both a little at a time.

I had the same bounce with my old duster, ladder bar also. I made limiters that kept the front tires at ride height. It still carried the frontend way out and came down smooth. No more big wheelstands and it went 1.25 60ft 8.90. The car had old steel konis out back and old 90/10s up front

I remember having set the compression settings up front real stiff due to much higher wheel stands before. I think all I need to do is soften the shocks a bit. I bet its bouncing off the tires.

Nice car!
Try a little more pressure in the rear tires?

I keep increasing tire pressure each pass, in very small increments. At 9.5 psi now up from 8.75, will keep going till it starts to spin or gets inconsistent.

EVERYONE HERE RUNNING MID 8'S ON LADDER BARS
PLEASE FORM A LINE ON THE RIGHT.

I just about have any front end travel. your rear shocks are way too stiff for compression I have mine 2 clicks from dead soft. rebound in the middle. wheelie bars 4".
those tires were 14x32's and sidewalls were beat. I changed to 33x10.5W's and now 1.22 60's

1.26 60's

Sofen the hit, slow down the front a tad and get longer wheelie bars!

I have seen a few friends of mine who went to longer bars to really "calm" a wheel stand.
