And now it's time to think about what color to do it this time.
Before you guys go crazy it will be BLUE, but what shade?
The original motor was a dark ford blue and I liked that one. The motor we built at Koffel's was an AMC big bad blue. I was trying to match the color of the car with that one and it wasn't quit right.
So, what do ya think.........

Bill paint it what YOU want... I put Petty blue only because you like it.... I paint them either black or orange... I might paint the next one red to match the car ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)

i voted Petty blue also. And i agree paint it the one that you like, you have to look at it. I am going through the same thing in my car, my new motor is very nice HEMI oarnge, but my car is blue. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif)

Bill where is the motor being built? Did you ever figure out exactly what caused the other engine failures? Was it just a rod failure? Good luck with it. I would paint it Hemi orange for sure if it was my car. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif)

Building this one at Koffel's just as with the others. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)
Rod failure is the most likly cuase but to this date still no smoking gun. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/down.gif)
I have no issues with the Orange paint, the 72's motor is orange.
It's just not me (I know, Big shock)
Pretty sure if I did it in any other color at this point someone would call those silly men in the white coats to pay me a visit. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif)
Each coice has it's appeal to me hence the poll.
Kinda like trying to decide betweena a Root beer float, a banna split, or a hot fudge sunday. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif)

Every single big block I've ever done was painted Chrysler red, and they've all done me well, so thats the only choice for me. I did my small block in the smog era mopar blue, and it came out great..it's in a white car with blue interior.
