Wow, is that the 500+ inch small block? If so, that thing sounds wicked! I NEED ONE!

Yes, the 501" hydraulic roller cammed, pump gas 360-1 Indy headed engine. I think the rev limiter is set at 6800rpm. It sounds wicked.

I love that car

Worked for me....10.353....looks like there's quite a bit left on the table from that launch

Its gone 10.04 but even that pass was taking it easy on the launch so it wouldnt wheel stand. It went 109.5 in the 1/8th and a 135+ 1/4. I dont think it will have a problem going 9.70s once the wheels standing has been tamed. Ron doesnt want to remove the weight from the bumper as he thinks that it is helping put weight on the rear tires for traction, but he is thinking about possibly building removeable weight ballast for the front of the car or even reinstalling the 10 inch converter that may calm down the launches. Either way, he knows he needs to tame the launch down. Ron says it will do a wheelie at will at any track and track condition. The Good tracks just make for much more violent launches and damaging header and oil pan results. I think he should just simply add weight bars to the nose and see how that acts. I dont think wheelie bars are his style either. The 8" ATI converter is really nice and would be ashamed to remove it when it seems to be working so well. The 10" Turbo Action is a nice cnverter as well. It was in his 476" W9 headed Demon and that car would only do big wheel stands when the track conditions were perfect.

Be a real shame to put all that work into lightening it up so much then throw the weight back into it to keep the wheelies down I think I would try a slightly higher gear.

Not sure about the gear but I was always under the impression that it`s better to move the existing weight around as apposed to adding more ESPECIALLY if you don`t have to meet a weight criteria.

Well, he could remove the 75 lbs or so he has welded inside the rear bumper.

What about trying heavier torsion bars and front suspension limiters, it would also handle better on the street.
My GTS reacts better now with the slant 6 bars but handled far better on the street with the old 340 bars.

Second trip but who`s counting.................It`s a forum and all I read here is constructive input. Big wheelies might be impressive but I`m pretty sure the et`s will drop when the front end does the same.

Just for the record... one of his last passes, he did not lift the front tires and had a 10-oh pass.. He knows what he is doing..

on both count's, it take's a while an I am sure it will be as good as it can get after some more passes.

I doubt a wheelie like in the video will affect ET much if any at all.Maybe a hundredth or two if you dont lift, if that

I had my EX car 3-4 feet in the air like that 100 feet out on the quickest pass the car ever made.

The key to not banging up the bottom is to stay in the gas and not lift

Mighty cool car

I think limiters and shock settings should cure the wheelstand issues. They did mine, and anybody who remembers seeing me on the back bumper can attest to the isues getting resolved, and that was with cheap shocks and just leafs to tune with.

A few more outings and you will get a handle on it
