My first passes were in my 62 Dodge Dart... poly 318 with dual quads... I later put a hemi in it... that was back when I was 16... that was at Detroit Dragway... now long gone.... I made my maiden voyage in the P Body there the last year it was open

02 90 chevy lumina 3.5 17.20's paid $500 for it. by the end of the year i won more with it than i payed for it.

1970 Challenger 383 auto 3.23 open. Spinning like crazy it ran high 15's (15.80ish) I can't remember it was 1983 at Orlando Speedworld. No digital pics to post. I remember the times were hand written.

1973 at Texas Raceway, it was still a 1/4 mile track then. I took my pride and joy 68 RR 4spd 3.91 gears to 14.90's. I found it much harder to hook at the track than on the street. I was content with the high 14 second pass as most of the 396 Chevelle's were in the 15's. I was 17 and bought the RR from the original owner in February that year.
Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.
