I have a 71 furyIII gran coupe & I'm trying to decode the fender tag, but I have a A96 code & my book does not. The code is located third line from the bottom far right side.
This car has headlight washers but I don't see a code for them. Could this be the code for them?????? Thanks for any help! GTS

What is IIRC? What does the interior dress up package include? Should there be a code for the headlight washers? Thanks, gts

What is the scheduled production date on the car?

If A96 was some sort of spring special it would not be in the sales literature from the start of the year.

A96 is a legit code on a 71 Fury

I have two tags here that show it as well. Dates are later, 525 & 617. I have not found anything that shows what it means yet though.

Theory - the 1971 book does not show the V1J (paisley) vinyl top (see http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/imag...ripes0010.jpg).

It is on the tag posted by Doug, it is also on the two I have here. Other common points on these three tags are M45, M85 & V1T.

The V5 moldings in tan are not shown in the book either - http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/imag...stripes0009.jpg

So, it appears to possibly be tied to an appearance package that included V1J & V5T.

To the OP, is this consistant with your car?

i cant find it in any of my literatre..even my salesmans pocket doesnt show it.. thought it may have been A76 since that was a common known code weird.. adn
