Id love to built that kinda stuff all day long and get paid for it. GREAT WORK!!! Kasey
I was'nt getting paid LOL
& luckily I have good enough repore with dyno shop that I got 5 1/2 days on the pump & 50+ pulls for free. Big Thanks to Greg Long & Denny @ DL Auto for the tireless efforts this week getting this turd to work.
Nice....What can you say about somebody who thrashes for +5days on a project like that, not getting paid, or just for the fun of it, its still a ton of work...Either you need therepy, or your really enjoying figuring these little wonders out for the knowledge it brings to you. Congrats, many of us are envious we don't get nearly that out of this hobby.
Thanks for the super detailed posting as well, now get some rest, it sounds like you need it. I still think you need therepy though.
PS...And there ARE those of us that do own big Hemi's that know what the small blocks are capable of, with and without boost, it just takes a little determination to follow thru on a project to make it all work.

Great post Ryan! I would love to put a turbo in my Bee. Did you have any issues with the hot side plumbing fitting in the engine bay? I've got a tired 383 that I plan to swap out with a 400 stroked. The original plan was for a 500ci or 512 but with a turbo I won't need that much ci. Do you have any pic's of the engine bay?

GOOD GOD O-MIGHTY! LOL! Ryan, it needs a rebuild already! Nice work, thats a nice hot rod too.....

curiousity question how much would a a piece like that run for?
Carb to pan, with turbo & plumbing I have about $21,000 in it, not counting any of my labor.
I won't be running this on pump gas... maybe do a mix when wastegate is set @ 8 PSI for some street use.
The exhaust out of turbo all runs through inner fender... currently 5" but we are re-doing that in 4" for more tire clearance.
This motor will make as much power as you are willing to put boost into it. I'm just about @ my personal limits... I don't want to put any more than 15 PSI in it, but if you put a 96 MM on it, cranked it up to 20+ with better fuel, I bet it would make 1150-1200 TQ pretty easy down low & make in the 1300-1400 HP range up top. I'm not comfortable putting that much power through this crankshaft. I'm not class racing, I don't need every last HP. I'll try to keep it alive & be happy winging it around on street having fun.

im already planning my 48deg w9 (my mopar disease),and with those streets near you, be careful, you'll suck a wood chuck through the turbo, lol well great post u da man!
They're called groundhogs in Pennsylvania & yeah I'll need to put a screen type filter on it to avoid sucking in small animals & children.... Guy here in State College has twins on a 406 GM & it sucked his ECU wiring harness into the turbos LOL.
& if I do a W9 motor for you it will have same heads on it this has.... may enlarge intake runner a bit, but other than that this is great head for the $.

Took us only three races this summer to find out why the engine misfires; a faulty water temp sensor that put a safety limiter on at times! The EFI is great! Hoiwever, once it works you can't beat it. I'm not that keen on using the laptop either, but if you like playing with one, you can do a LOT of things with the EFI that you can't with a carb, and without spilling fuel. Maybe we just had christmas when building our engine, but I have not seen anything difficult with the turbos. Just use quality parts where needed, sensibly sized, and common sence should handle the rest.
