Is this going to be an all weather car? I don't run them, but I do my best to stick to dry roads. While I have never had a problem, I wonder how important they really are?

Master, again and still

I'm sure you can get by without em.
I believe they prolong the spindle seals and maybe keep some splash off your inner fenders?

Might even protect your rotor from flying debris.

If you read Mopar Action and trust in the advise of their head Tech Editor Rick Ehrenberg, leave them off and dont worry about it. They trap heat. When they get bent, they will scrape the rotor and make annoying noise. Their benefits? Who knows. I remove them from the cars I build.

When I put the bigger rotors on my wagon, I left off the dust shields. I was all worried about dirt and funk getting in past the rear seal of the rotor, but, I never had it happen in over 40K miles of daily driving, including driving in flooded conditions (water was almost to the center of the wheel ).

Don't sweat it. As long as the seal is good, you'll be fine.

no they are not the same.
I think you can still order them from the dealer.
The part is either similar or the same as the 80's van one's.

But I agree, not necessary. Most aftermarket kits don't even come with them.

you can tell they are not.
the a, b and e body ones are actually too small.
they may bolt up(which I am not sure they do) but they don't fully cover the rotor.

The c-body ones do. Been a few years since I did the disc swap or even looked at the splash sheilds, but if you check a b body with the 11 inch rotors and splash sheilds, you will se about a half an inch of rotor sticking out past the shield.
A cbody doesn't do that.
