Had the same problem. Went with the expensive Schumacher mounts, and they weren't even close to the same size as the stockers, and the studs were too short as well so you couldn't even get lock washers on them. Those sit on the shelf now, and I made new solid ones. Much, much better. I didn't notice much change in the vibration, but I have a rougher idleing cam to begine with. Headers are a lot happier now and so is my air cleaner that used to hit the hood.

I've just ordered a pair of Schumacher from Mancini Were there for small block? Can I make them to fit with modifications? How could they get away with it, advertising in all magasine for so many years if they are that bad?

My engine builder has a set on his hemi and loves them. Mine sucked on my 360, so obviously there are some differences between the different sets. I could not have my engine sit any higher in the engine bay than it already was. These were thicker, and the studs were too short. Made a mess of things, so I fabbed my own solids. Called him and he was zero help.

My other car has a full front plate, and again, solid is the best way to go.

I have a solid mount laying in the garage and I plan to put it on the drivers side and see how it does in the vibration department. Ron

I installed the solid on the drivers side today. I used a Moroso solid mount. Great upgrade on my car! slightly more engine vibration, but a very small increase. Solved my header clearance problem. And, the fact that the motor is locked down on acceleration might even be worth a couple of hundreths on my 60 ??
