While working on the carb today I found the reason
why Doug rolled the light on the weekend... I would
pull the car into gear to load the engine to see how
the carb was working and when I put it back into neutral
and hit the gas to clean it out it jumped forward...
I did this a couple times then said this isnt right
and started looking for the problem... a melted shift
cable... the way I had it routed around the starter
it slipped off and got close to the pipes... SO it
wasnt Doug's fault at all... was mine for not doing
it right.... so tomorrow I need to order up a shift
cable... what a shame I liked that cable.. just the
skinny old regular one, not the HD one(I dont care
for those, they dont flex very well)
