Mine is a pretty simple W-9... Chapman CNC ported heads, 9.2 deck 48* siamese block, 50mm cam .700 lift 276/284 @50 112LSA, 14.1:1 CP pistons, 4.125 bore with a 3.79 billet crank... 420 intake with a 1050 dom on E-85, the only trick thing on my engine is the dry sump oiling system... I wish I would have gone with the bigger bore to unshroud the valve... plus I need more cam, would like about .100 more lift... currently its a 405ci

Mine is in progress , but is vaguely similar to Mike's. 9" deck and 4.125 X 3.79. The short block was bought on ebay and advertised as a tall deck , which would have given me a lot more options to change things around. But after the hassle and wait I went through before I finally got it ( I could turn this into a bash Rick Liuzzo fest right about now......I'm still not over it or happy with the result ), I decided to forge ahead and make the best out of it. So it will be using a 6" rod ( Crower ) and should be in the 13.5 : 1 neighborhood. I will also be burning E-85 The heads are being done by a local guy ........another thing I would do differently. He is very good , but not MoParcentric......and he has a boat load of customers which I think has back burnered my deal more than once. I have a blank cam core ( solid roller )that will be sent to Bullet once I get some flow numbers. I have an early block with the babbitt cam bearings. Wet sump with a Stef's pan........oiling through pushrods to 1.6 T&D rockers. It will have reverse flow cooling with a remote water pump. I am maybe more interested in reliability than all out performance , so I am looking for strong flow numbers through the mid lift and relatively tame cam specs to make it easy on parts. I am leaning on a H.P. 950 done up by Rob Mix , a local E-85 guru. I plan on streeting this thing a fair bit , so I had to compromise a little bit on how radical I went with certain aspects of the build. I think it is a lot easier to build one or the other.......at least some of the choices I had to make would have been made for me by past experience of others.

What kind of RPM are you guys running those motors @ 405ci?
I normally turn 8000 to 8200... has been mid 9000 but didnt make power up there... later I dynoed it and I make peak at 8100

I had a W8 engine almost finished, it was just getting too costly and I really wanted to go R5/P7 anyway. Rick Liuzzo helped me out a bunch with the deal. The combo was: 9.0" Deck Block 4.125" bore 3.25" Bryant Crank 15:1 JE Piston by Rebco Groden Aluminium Rods W8 13 degree by CFE CFE Sheet metal intake Single 1050 Dominator Weber Belt drive Jesel Front drive Distributor Jesel 1.75/1.6:1 Mohawk rockers Comp 60mm Roller 0.488" lobe, 275 @ 0.050" on a 110 l/s Moroso 5 Stage Pan with an AutoVerdi 6 Stage Pump
With that lobe separation the peak RPM would have been around 8800RPM. When Rick and I first started talking the combo out he was talking more around a 113-115 l/s that would have seen the tacho shoot to around 9000-9500RPM. I didn't see myself being able to afford the Valve Spring bill for the year, so it was toned down a little.
The heads were decent, but weren't a maxed out Pro Stock Truck head, so the engine would have made low 800's at best.

Andy, best so far on motor in the summer heat 6.03 @ 114mph / 9.49 @ 141mph, 3180#. Keep in mind the camshaft in this motor it likes the N2O. Now if we can just get it to 60ft. Mike Gray
