As long as it has been sealed from the air it should be good to go.

The race gas I am using is in a sealed farm chem barrel, out of the sun light and is from last year. My supplier is using gas out of sealed barrels that was left over from last season.
Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks.
But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

i will say this I would rather run less compression and idea timing than crank up the compression and dial back the timing. All I am saying is that 3/4 of a point compression isnt going to make much a diff in a sorted semi fast race car. And not even noticeable in a street only seat of pants meter. Pulling 6-8 deg out of a engine can make a tremendous power loss. If I was interested in going this route, I would maybe ask around the FAST message board, Im sure those guys run as much compression worldly possible in those cars. Talk to Porter Racing heads about cam specs etc.
