I was putting my rallye dash harness in last night and ran into a few problems. Most were on the accessory lighting harness and the AC harness which seem to be almost separate harnesses from the main harness. I am planning to attach a few pics to my questions, so please be patient. First question on the AC/heat control there are two wires a tan or lt green and a blue(I am color blind so I can't tell the exact color of the lighter wire)and an upper and lower terminal. Which wire goes to which terminal?

Question 2 What wire powers the clock? There is a red spade terminal with two wires and a black one that doesn't seem like it would reach the clock.

I am really confused about where all these lighting wires go. My car never had the light shown that goes below the dash where is it mounted? Also there is a long orange (3-4 ft?)wire with a a spade terminal where does it go? It is shown in this pic next to the light and another two hole female terminal - what goes in this?

Is this a lighting delay - silver thing? Where does this yellow striped wire plug into? Where is the silver thing supposed to mount? What plugs into the extra spade terminal in that terminal shown in the middle of the picture?

The long orange may be to the floor shift selector light. Orange is for the accessory lighting, that comes on with parking lights. If not that, then cluster lights or ashtray light.

The clock on a rallye dash should be the dual red wire connector. The black would probably be for the non-rallye dash clock.

Green and blue on heater head should be interchangeable. Blue goes out to the compressor, and light green feeds the switch from the fuse block. If one of the terminals is marked "CL", put blue there just to be safe.

Looks like you may be right about the silver device being a lighting delay. Yellow with black tracer may go to a map light. Not sure about the other connector, possibly the ignition switch light or the light above the left pod switches? Maybe there's something else local that fits the plug? At least you can use that to look it up and figure out what it is.

that black light bulb holder thing i think should mount to the ac only long trim piece that reaches from steering column to glove box, sort of.im missing this piece on my car so thats all i can come up with.

You are right. It is the map light/courtesy light that goes in the lower trim piece. It is part of the deluxe light package.

There is a pair of 16 gauge red wires that junction at the connector that goes to the clock.

The silver thing does not mount, it is kind of wedged into the harness. Mine had some black goop on it so it may have been taped in, I just can't tell you for sure.
The yellow wire with the trace goes to two places: the lamp ground connector and to the map light switch supplying it with a ground.

OK - I am getting this slowly figured out. With the red wire going to the clock I looked closely at my old harness and the voltage limiter for the gauge cluster is where the black wire went. I looked at my AC trim panel and found where the light mounts and that there is a map light switch that I am missing which will account for one more socket of the lighting harness. As mentioned above the long orange wire with a socket would have gone to the console - which I am not going to use so I will need to unhook it. I have a few more wires that I am trying to find homes for. I'll have to take a few more pictures later to show what else I think I have figured out and what else I need to do. Thanks for all of the help!

My Challenger is a 73. I will take a few more pics tomorrow. My daughters birthday is today and I won't have time to mess with it tonight. I think I am getting down to just a few things that need to be hooked up yet and verification on some things that I think go together.

Got a little more figured out over the weekend. I found I had the wrong glove box light in the car as it didn't have the long wire going to it - just a stub and a bullet terminmal. I found the correct one in a box with my Satellite parts, and it had a splitter terminal which I think goes to the back of the clock too so it has power all of the time. So now I have a glove box light that should work. I took some more pictures and will post later.

OK - the wires on the end of the harness towards the glove box are my main concern now. Here is a pic. What is the connector with all the blue wires and the long orange connector with the female spade terminal supposed to hook to?

Are these the wires that go to the brake light switch? What hooks to the 3 place female bullet style connector? These are all next to the wires that go to the steering column...

How long should the tach wire be that goes to the coil after the firewall grommet?

The long orange wire connects with the console shifter light on another long orange wire.

Not sure how long. It should go to a female bullet connector. It should be long enough to have the connection next to the black engine connector from the harness that plugs into the firewall connector. Sounds confusing but you should be able to unplug both fairly close to each other.
