My dad said they check for guns at the gate, and if you don't have one they give you one lol.
Looks like a fun place, I want to visit there and George Rays this summer.

Hey if you are looking at this thread hoping for Mopars, you can give up ..
BUT !! I am going to build a old POS to play with at these , this isn't the only old track around here although its the most feared
Do they make SFI approved flak jackets?

About 20 years ago a friend of mine and I went out to the NAS to watch F-14s fly around back then. On the way back I suggested we stop at Yeller Belly. He didn't want to, so we went home. Good thing, a guy got shot and killed out there that day. They need metal detectors at the gate more so than at DFW airport.

Yes that place has quite a rep. You should go to texaspic.net to the racing part and look at the pics he took from there. No belts, helmets, or jackets. To many nice tracks around here to waste time at that joint imo.

Here is a old vid, others there at well
They like to tear stuff up there
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Euap_jz4emw
Dont even know where to start with that vid ,but that was the scene when i went on a TNT night a few years back.People all over starting line .2 or 3 people in each car racing .I even saw 2 guys racing a Susuki Samari with a Nasty sbc shoehorned in it .They were both smoking a tiny cigarette in the burnout box and then proceded to stand it straight up off the line.No seatbelts ,helments, etc.The track is not sanctioned (go figure) .Funny thing is there are signs on the fences that say "no profanity" ,lol...
Was it this one ?
Sorry im alot of things ,but im no Nark .Slept too many times since i saw it a few years ago to honestly say for certain ...

The time frame for the shooting would have been in the late 1980s or early 1990s. I heard it on the news the following day.
