Great job Doug, congrats!! BTW thanks for posting up the specs.... I was going to put a post up about stock stroke Ohio cranks (I need one for a project), but I guess I won't bother now....if that works for your application it's going to work just fine for mine too.

Thanks everyone. I wasnt sure what to expect. I didnt get a chance to do anything to the car before I left Louisville to head to Columbus,,,other than setting the timing,,and checking for any leaks. I am going to replace the slicks,,,they are shot,,,(3 years old this spring),,,so, we'll see if that helps,,,i think it might with the 60' The other plan is to put in some lighter torsion bars, have to measure the current ones,,,but think they are the "stock" bars,,hopefully i can get the car to transfer better.... My 60' were 1.44,,,,so,,if i could get that down to a 1.40 i would be pleased,,,,doubt i'll hit a 9' but i'll try and keep chipping away at it. Thanks for all the comments,,,, DOUG

Congrats Doug,
Sounds like the new bullet you loaded in the gun is going to do the job, with some tweaking I don't see high 9's being a problem with your set up.
Keep after it small changes, sometimes brings the most gains, just keep up with what you do, so you know what happens, and if it doesn't work you can go back and try something else.
Definately need to work on the 60's, there are gains to be made in that area, my car will go 1.40 flat in the 60, when the track is gooood, just so so, it will go 1.42's regularly, and my engine is no where near the engine you have, that would be where I would start looking for gains.
By the way, mine has the stock torsion bars, and those old junk comp engineering front shocks, so don't over think the front end.

How essential is it to use or buy a "torsion bar removal tool" ? Will a BFH do the same thing ? what do you guys normally do,,,,,,,,,,, I found some lighter torsion bars,,,going to give them a try,,,,,with some new slicks,,,,,and some Calvert shocks,,,, (ps,,i know Dave,,,not trying to over think it,,,but I have to keep messing with stuff,,,lol) DOUG

its very crucial. get the miller tool. dont use vise grips and bang away. you'll ruin the torsion bar. use the correct tool.
