Only draw back to centering the tips perfectly on the valve stem is you often wind up with push rods hitting the intake ports. Sometimes you have to come to an acceptable middle ground. I also had to machine down the hughes hold downs.

i had to take 0.30" off each side of the hughes hold downs to get 0.15" side clearance per pair with comp pro magnums and stealth heads. i was expecting to do some milling though from what i read here.

I'm in the middle of setting the rocker gear up on my B1BS heads. Had to take off about .030" per side also. I'm glad I saw this also. Using aluminum rockers, if the minimum clearence is .015", what would be the acceptable maximum?
