This was our first weekend our with it so I'm still hoping for a 10.90 or maybe even a 10.80 with some tuning.
Here is the combo:
1968 Fastback Barracuda 318 stroker (390cid) K1 4" forged crank Eagle Rods H-beam rods Ross flat top pistons - 11:1 compression Edelbrock heads (OOTB) -- untouched but hope to get them ported next year. Air-gap dual plane ---- Now M1 intake BG 750 silver claw – AV gas -- Now Holley 950 Alcohol carb Comp solid cam (.540/.555 252/262 @.050 106 lobe sep) 727 & Dynamic 9.5” converter 3.91 gears in a 8 ¾ sure grip ---- 4.30 gears and spool with 35 spline axles now Micky Thompson 26x10 slicks ----- Now GoodYear 28x10 Cal-tracs, mono leaf, Rancho 9way shocks & Cal-tracs 90/10 front shocks Carter mechanical fuel pump -- Now Aeromotive 2000 fuel pump TTI headers 1 5/8 step headers with full 3” TTI exhaust, X pipe with Dynomax turbos ran 11.35 at 118mph shifting at 5,700rpm
Here is what I did this winter: putting a 6 point roll bar in pulling out the stock tank and going to a 5 gal fuel cell Aeromotive 2000 fuel pump moving the battery to the trunk moving to a spool 4.30 gears GoodYear 28x10 slicks M1 intake Holley 950 Alcohol carb 132 jet and power valves (Going to Alcohol)
Weighed the car this weekend and it weighed 3,095 so race weight is somewhere close to 3,250lbs so I think that calculates to just over 550hp at the flywheel.
Timing is 38 degrees.
Best pass was 11.03 at 121mph with 1.502 60' shifting at 6,300 and stalling to 2,250 but it will stall over 3,000 but my wife is used to staging it at 2,250 from last year and since we were bracket racing, I left her alone. Will get her to move it to 2,500 next time out.
It's picking up the front tires between 3 - 4 inches.
I'll post a video in just a minute, but it's big, 25MB.
Anyone got any suggestions on how to get a little more out of it?

The car appears to work well, there isn't a whole lot of front end travel before it picks up the tires, its certainly not the 5 inches worth that Calvert recommends, but if its working well I don't see a problem with how it is.
I'm building a 4" stroke 318 based motor currently myself, so I like to see your results.Mine will be a 396 though, and likely be Indy headed.

I've got 5" of travel in the shop, measuring like the tell you to but in the video, I've got it stalled just under 3,000 so I'm taking some of that up with the stall. If you watch the video in slow-mo it looks like a good 4" of travel to me.
It also looks like it rolls 6 to 9 inches before it picks up the tires.
With your Indy head, more compression and better cam you'll be making much more power than I am. Several people including Ryan told me it wasn't a cam they would have selected for the combo but I picked it up cheap and had it on the shelf so I used it.
I'm limited by the 1 5/8 TTI step headers, no port work, and 11:1 compression and a 8" converter would make it leave harder but then I might start having traction problems.

Just picked up the heads from being ported, at 550 lift (which is what my can lift is) he pick them up from 230 to 265 cfm, so I'm looking to run some 10.70s this year if I can keep those small slicks hooked up.

Eerily close to my 414 combo in cam and now RyanJ ported E-heads, I'm running a ported Victor and an 830 to start with 4.56's at around 2900 pounds. Maybe I should put the 341 back in!!

That's what I figured, there is still a lot left in them with additional porting. (thanks for providing this info)
I think the motor will be much more efficient just from the "cleaning" up work and making them flow the same and consistently from cylinder to cylinder.
Can't wait to get to the track and find out!
I think adding 35 more CFM will pick it up also! Love this car/combo...it's working pretty well I must say.
We have a pic above of the trunk...we need one of the engine room and interior please!
Keep us posted!!
