1300HP at only 6200 on the first sheet

Hey, if I was going to have 1300 HP with a stock block I would rather have it at 6200 rpm vs 7000 rpm. I like the #1 pull best mike

not really 1100ft lbs at 6200 is a lot worse on a block than 997 at 6900.

he has a lot of bottom end work done.i am just saying it has to be pritty strong.

WTG, to all..btw, who won the contest? I was off by about 60 hp, guessed 1400.

ps, how bad was the oil pressure with no groove, I will have to check that as I'm not sure my builder put one in either.

Oil pressure was fine even without the grove, it was just starving the rocker gear.

Are you running b-1s?

Josh. Congrats on what looks like getting your engine reliable. If I were there, you would just be getting home about now. I'm sure you heard I like to talk.LOL Wish I could've been there. The job I was doing took way too long, then the sections for Scott were unloaded after 3, so That would have put me there around 5. With 4 kids under 4, and me leaving for almost a week next week, I have to choose my battles wisely. Sorry. I'll make it up to you , somehow.. Sounds like you had all hands working while you were there, anyway. That dyno room is kinf of smallish, and with all of you bodybuilders in there, I would have been just a fly on the wall anyway.. Congrats..

Its ok Rich, we had a lot easier time with you not there to defend yourself from our banter!!!! hahahahahaha

I dont have any weight goals for the car... I think 3300 is pretty realistic. I dont think ET will correlate with the numbers and ill tell you why I think that.

Launching the car is going to be somewhat similar to a ballet....smooth, soft and precise....nothing a typical bracket car has to deal with. Im ok with that, it will mph pretty good I think, but there is no way it will come close to what the wallace racing calculator that everyone bench races with says it should run..... but it will be fun, and pretty cheap to feed, and will make it through drag week and hopefully post a few 8 second times along the way.

Just curious king, you stated the wastegate was set up for 30lbs of boost on the 1st pull....just wonder why so much boost...how much boost on the other runs....I imagine you were measuring boost under the carb...any data would be great....

Also no reason not to be able to go ahead and lay the power down to the tires at the track.

I hear ya about the soft leave however I know a lot of P.S.C.A. racers and others who finess the starting line especially on small tires and start coming on strong at about the 330 and 'HANG ON" after that. What you`re doin is a whole different animal than most on here so good luck to ya!

Thanks thumperdart. Sometimes I wonder why I make stuff so hard on myself. Hahahaha

Instegator, the waste gate is a tial 60mm and was ordered and the box labeled as to have the smallest 2lb spring in it. When we made that pull we were only going to 6200 regardless, bu we had NO ideas that it had the incorrect spring in it. I promptly took the gate apart and found what looked like a coil spring from a chevy g body and a small spring both. I made the 1100hp pull with just the small spring and about 12 lbs of boost. The 1310 was closer to 18-20. The timing also made a big difference.

Just saw this post. It was good talking to you Josh. I am glad to hear one of my cap and girdle kits were involved with this build. This is likely the highest HP stock OEM block that my kit has ever been used on. We knew we had a good thing going when we all designed this thing. I am still in talks with a few on this board to take over the BCR line. i have been so busy doing other things I have not had time to deal with handing it over to an interested party. Great #s again---thanks---Greg
