Besides what others have posted about the Calverts, A very good side to them is they settle the car very gently. My car pulls the wheels about 18" and carries the tires in the air almost to the 60' mark. The tires don't just get jerked off the ground but has a nice arc to it and when the tire touch back down, it doesn't "crash down". I run my torsion bars almost on the rubber stops at rest, but going down the track the front end is up a little and if I need to get on the brakes agressively in the lights it doesn't upset the car, because the shochs won't let the front end slam down.
If you try them, you'll be pleased.
This pic was taken at about 330'.

replacing some comps 3 ways on my car with calverts also. they are way easier to pull apart. well im at it i switching to tubular uppers and adjustable strut rods from RMS. trying to get more consistent 60's out of my car. local track prep usually sucks so i need all the help i can get.

Glad to see that they work so well, we won't be able to try ours for a couple of weeks but we did some other changes too ( as above)

how would the calverts fare on the street compared to a lakewood 90/10? is the fact that the calverts settle gently better for emergency or panic stopping?

They`re fine on the street and my car handles great and has for over a year w/the Calverts.

Well, I put a set on my car this week and I am not impressed at all with the compression dampening of these shocks.

They seem like they are a shade better then having no shocks at all.....

Not what I was looking for for getting on the brakes hard at the finish line....

You are not alone Moparacer, they didn`t work on my application either I ended up putting my Koni SPA1s back on. I was really hoping for an improvement as they are highly regarded but I think they rose too quick resulting in tire spin, I tried them for 2 months under different conditions and I would spin every run. I put the Konis on and suddenly the spinning stopped.

11 second dart,

What do you have for rear suspension and shocks?
What I'm asking is do the Calvert front shocks
need to be used with their rear suspension and
their 9 way adj shocks?

Yep, I can see my car pulling the fronts with these and purposing clean past the 330 ft timers.

Wont stand for any car I drive to do that...

Looks like I am going to have to spring for a set of double adjustable fronts for a stock A body front end.

About to post a thread on that now.

I have their complete setup, Cal-Tracs, Mono springs and Rancho 9 way adjustable shocks. My car works good as it is, I run on a mechanical throttle stop to go 11.50s and my 60 ft is 1.50-1.54, off the stop it goes 10.50s with 60fts 1.42-1.46. It was actually better with the S/S springs but the Cal-Tracs made it more consistent.
