I want to get a new set of door handles for the Challenger. I see many for sale but I know there is a difference between the challenger and cuda but all are advertised as a fitment for either. I recall that one had a concave shape and the other straight. I know they will interchange but the fit isn't quite as nice. So, what are these new ones? Challenger or Cuda? Any suggestion on where to get them? Thanks

Hey Jeff. The ones for the Challenger should be concave. Dale's Cuda shop has them.

In 72 or 73, the handle was redesigned to fit both Challengers and Cudas. The origonal ones on my 73 Challenger are more flat...not concave or convex. You really run into a problem when you try and install Cuda handles on a Challenger. You can easily tell that something is wrong.

I believe the ones MP sells are the more generic 73-74 style. Dales has the Challenger only ones.

The barracuda ones are the straight style. They will fit on Challengers but Challenger ones will not fit on barracudas due to the convex shape.
This picture shows the contour of a Challenger handle.

I disagree.

The Cuda handles are noticably convex. They look horrible on Challengers. Someone on here has a pic of Cuda handles installed on a Challenger. There is a large gap between the handle and the body. I know mine never looked like that. My 73 handles are much flatter than the Cuda ones.

There are 3 sets of factory e-body door handles.
1970-'71 Challenger - concave
1970-'71 Barracuda - convex
I believe these were phased out during the 1971 model year with
'71-1974 E-body - flat

1 cheap repaint GB2 318 Challenger - June '71 SPD - FLAT

I dont see in the "Dales Cuda Shop" product session where it anywhere indicates these are the concave style. Im not selling they Do or Dont sell the correct style, I dont know. But if they are indeed the correct concave style then the Website should say it. Can anyone state "for certain" these are the correct concave Challenger door handles? Also, other than the visual difference in comparing the Cuda vs Challenger door handles arent the last 3 numbers in the Challenger handles ending in 286 and 287 (or) do I have it backward? I dont remember for sure without looking.

The Challenger Door handles are different than the Cuda's. In 73' they changed them to one style the Barracuda. They do not fit good in the Challenger. There are a few people selling the repops that are correct, Roseville C.P. in Mich has them. He gave me 10% off.Ask for Paul.

Dale's has the Challenger and Cuda handle listed in different sections with different part numbers on them. I'm pretty sure they sell both the Challenger(only) and Cuda(only) handles. I'm sure you can give them a call and find out for sure.

I did look at the handles that Herb's sells at the Nat's last year. They looked like they were the Cuda ones. I didn't have my origonals to compair so I passed.
