I read the few posts on Helmets here, didn't find the answer I need... so here's the issue.
I raced the Challenger this weekend, and I hit 14.3 in the 1/4 mile. Ok, cool. Now I need a helmet.
I tried on the XXL one they had there, and my head is much to big for the thing. I can't find anything on Simpson's site or Helmetcity.com about anything larger.
Any ideas?
Ryan

Maybe the helmet wasn't XXL (as in mismarked or mislabeled). Get to a shop and try on NEW helmets from several companies, all XXL, to be certain of no fit. And then shave your hair off and go Van Gogh on the ears.

Dang. POST A PICTURE I have to see how big that basketball head of yours is
It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.

Good luck,Ryan! Congrats on the magazine ink,too... Maybe the punkin head will go down in size...After the novelty of being published wears off!!
I'll get a measuring tape and get a rough idea tonight. I asked the lady at Great Lakes if they had any for big bear or moose.... she wasn't laughing.
Sadly my head was that big before and will be that big later. Plus my ego has had enough bruising lately that it let alot of the hot air out.

My hat size, helmet also is 7 5/8 not XXL. Not all helmet and hat sizes in the XL and XXL are the same. My current helmet is a Bell open face, I wear glasses and my class does not require a close face helmet, try different brands and sizes on, you do not want a lose helmet on your head in a crash Buy one that is snug and will become very snug once you fasten the chin strap I have to pull the sides open on mine to be able to slide it on to start with
