With 2 inch lowering blocks I hope you removed your pinion snubber.

Good eye....and yes I did. I had to modify that one to go lower even before I put the blocks in.

Some purists and old school guys resist the newer trends, and I can respect that. I don't care for the Ipod stuff in my car stereos and I have yet to embrace EFI on an old big block. STILL... running new style large diameter rims is one of my exceptions. My 70 Charger has 18x9 Intro Twisted Vistas on the front and 18x10 in the rear. With most aluminum rims, the rim is 3/4 to 1 inch wider than stated. That said, my front wheels are actually 9 and 7/8 wide, with 4 7/8 backspacing. I am running a 275 40 18 up front and half the tire is tucked in the wheelwell. The body is stock. The alignment is 1/2 degree Neg camber, 3 degrees Pos caster and 1/8" toe in. 4500 miles and no irregular tire wear or interference to the body. The rear is another story. The 18x10 was centered in the wheelwell with the same 4 7/8 backspacing, but as you may know, the outer wheelhouse (Wheel tub) in the 68-70 Charger was a little wierd. It dips downward along the top edge. This caused tire rub on upward travel, since the rear end is lowered 2" below stock. I had 3 choices on how to fix it. I could modify the wheel tub. That was out, because I didnt want to risk scratching the paint. I could have modified the rims, but that would have cost almost $500. I decided to buy a C body housing and have it narrowed to fit. It worked for me. Oh, the rear tires are 295 45 18. Not a drag slick, but not a rubber band either.

Just to move the back spacing on 2 rims ?

You could have driven down here, I could have got them done, you could have bought me lunch, driven home and still be ahead of the game for that much money

Thanks guys again- OZhemi thanks for check on price and thats the same price I got @ American tires and also can finance it.

You guys make this real hard on what to do- but leaning to go with 17x ? (8 or 9"-?) for front and 17x9 in the rear

anymore thought or suggestions ?

I REALLY like those Ion wheels. I've been eyeing them for some time now, but being an old school rubber & chrome kinda guy I just haven't mustered the nerve to pull the trigger yet.

But I think they'd look great on your car.

No problem..I don't pay tax where I get them which is nice (since I export them mainly) but if you have to finance them..a tire shop would be the way to go I suppose

Hey OZ HEMI,
Yeah, the $500 included Dismounting 2 tires, Box and ship 400 miles for 2 rims round trip, removing the centers of the wheels and putting them in new "Hoops", and finally mount and balance. I bought the bare housing for $50, narrowed it for $125 . The Moser shafts had 2 1/2" of splines, so I just cut them myself. I had the car back on the road in 4 days.
