go over to bigblockdarts for a bunch of info.
If you can't be bothered to research these due to ADD, there is no way you can build one!

I've searched ForABodiesOnly, BigBlockDarts, GTS Registry, etc, and Googled every combonation of key words possible. I did my due diligence first. I don't expect anybody to do my research for me.

Can't build one with A.D.D.? My friend, you don't understand A.D.D., then. It's an asset, not a disability like all these college brainwashed shrinks would have you believe.

AND, the reason I asked some of these questions is because I have three A-bodies I'm looking at and trying to figure out the best one to work with...

FWIW: I used to race a '67 Dart in the late sixties at N.E. Raceway. After 40 years, I CRS*

okay, then!
~600 built in 1969 (440)
All auto
all 8.75
hard parts are the exhaust manifolds esp. left side
oil pan/pickup
left motor mount bracket and block that will work
radiator (I think)
wheels?

All this is if going STOCK.
obviously, headers, mount and an oil pan isn't going to keep a rodder/racer down!

There were 68-69 383s too. The B block fits better than an RB. More Bs were built too.

There's one last issue that has me confused.
A-body "K" member 2883984 was for the 383 w/o P.S in '68. 288399 was for the 383 WITH P.S. in '68.
WITH? So Norm did sell'em with P.S. The factory in '69 did not offer P.S even tho the 399 "K" member was used by the factory in '69. Go figure..

Power steering wasn't offered on M-Codes due to the fact that the motor mount bracket is in the way where the p/s pump would be.383's could get p/s because they used a different bracket/actually the M-Code bracket is a modified 383 piece. Also, radiator, oil pan fan, pulleys ect. are all 383 issue parts. John.

I guess that is where I'm confused.
Why would/did the 440 have a different left side mount than the 383?
Is this to say that if one had an original 383 Dart, swapping in a 440 would be a problem w/o modifyiing the mount?

Am I wearing out our patience yet?

The A-body 383 used the 65 C-body mount and a special isolator. 440's did not have the two bosses for this mount so a special mount had to be used. I think I have pictures on my computer at work.

You can't tell the difference between the 383 and the 440 unless they are side by side and the casting numbers
