Whatever happened to Bagshaw himself?
I know he was busted up pretty bad in that accident that took place in St. Louis, where his Challenger wound up in the stands and there were some fatalities. I know he went into the parts business after that, but then he has just dropped from sight.
Is he still around anywhere?

No, it was a Dart Sport with a 396 inch Hemi as Chrysler found it worked OK at that displacement with the weight breaks. This was at the tail end of the glory years for Chrysler. The car was destroyed....this was 1974, and I believe that it was an AHRA event at Gateway. As I understand it, a rod broke, the car got into it's own oil, hit the rail at just the correct angle to flip into the stands. It was a bad, bad, deal.
His cars were always absolutely gorgeous. I had seen him run at the old Keystone Raceway (now PRP) the week before the accident....he was match racing the late Joe Satmary in the Wee-Haul Camaro.
