Did the "red light bandit" have any relationship
with the "redlight Dart" (dart sport)73-74ish?

As far as a '68 Cuda, I never saw Bagshaw in one, or a Cuda with his name or livery on it; Bagshaw ran at Lions a lot back then (about 20 miles from his shop), and I was there or at Famoso lots of weekends either with a car or spectating, and can't recall a RLB '68 'Cuda.

I always liked his cars as they were always real clean race cars. I remember when he built a Pro Stock Challenger. Ron

Whatever happened to Bagshaw himself?

I know he was busted up pretty bad in that accident that took place in St. Louis, where his Challenger wound up in the stands and there were some fatalities. I know he went into the parts business after that, but then he has just dropped from sight.

Is he still around anywhere?

Last talked to Bill some years ago, bought some parts from him; he still had a shop in West L.A. but was mostly golfing.
His cars were indeed some of the cleanest around.
Lambeck told me he sold his '68 Cuda to Bob Reed, it's the one with the elongated rear wheel-openings.

Steve, I thought it was his PS Dart Sport that he wrecked? I seem to remember a Hot Rod/Car Craft article on Bill from back then. I believe this car was built by Ron Butler.

You are indeed right, Jim, it was the Dart Sport.

Are you refering to the car they did for Car Craft article with the 511hp 440? If so that car was a Red 74 Duster, and i do know who owns it now.

No, it was a Dart Sport with a 396 inch Hemi as Chrysler found it worked OK at that displacement with the weight breaks. This was at the tail end of the glory years for Chrysler. The car was destroyed....this was 1974, and I believe that it was an AHRA event at Gateway. As I understand it, a rod broke, the car got into it's own oil, hit the rail at just the correct angle to flip into the stands. It was a bad, bad, deal.

His cars were always absolutely gorgeous. I had seen him run at the old Keystone Raceway (now PRP) the week before the accident....he was match racing the late Joe Satmary in the Wee-Haul Camaro.
