I have a 4 speed Transmission out of a 69 Road Runner that needs a little attention, who provides the better service between Brewers and Passon? Any Input would be great.

Thanks.

Brewers has always been up front with me and very fast responses when I had a question or order. Never had any dealings with Passon.

I'm just the opposite - Dealt with Jamie and he was very professional , actually called you back if he was not at the phone. Never had any dealings with Brewers.

Both have a stellar reputation, kind of a rarity these days.

Jamie rebuilt my 4spd from my 68 Road Runner and it sat in my spare bedroom for over a year before I installed it. I know, I have a real understanding wife! He still backs his warranty without question, and he's helped me through the installation even after a year of it sitting. It's shifting wonderfully with no issues and I'd defenitley recommend him for the rebuild. I've only heard good things about Brewer's too, so really, it's probably a toss up to who's closest to you for shipping. But my $$ is on Passon! Thanks again Jamie!

Cheers

I started buying from Brewers because I found out about him first. Never a complaint.

As for Passon I have never heard of a problem or complaint and would buy from him in a heartbeat without thinking twice.

You can't go wrong with either company in my opinion.

Brewer's is located here in Ohio, as you are. That would be a big plus for me.

Good Luck...

Ditto. I personally went to Jamie's shop once I broke down the components. He analyzed every component and suggested what needed to be replaced. I bought most of them from Jamie but also bought from Brewers.

Antoher vote for Passon. I can't say anything about Brewers since I have not used them, But Jamie Passon is first rate!
I bought my rebuild kit from him, then found I needed more parts when I tore it down, he expedited them to me. also provided outstanding customer support and technical help. I wouldn't likley ever go anywhere else for transmission stuff because of the great way Jamie took care of his customer (me).

i have delt with brewers a lot in selling cores.always both wayne, and dan have been very helpful, and trust worthy,to explain the conditions of my used cores, and show me the condition, and price accordingly.PLUS they have helped me sort out one i was building also!! i have been please with the good customer relations, and they really know their mopar transmissions/parts.being in ohio, there would be NO question...BREWERS PERFORMANCE!.. ..mike

Here's my experience with Jamie - about 3 or 4 years ago I had my car apart and my 18 spline trans was leaking from a lot of different places but shifted just fine so I called up Jamie to see if he could just replace all the gaskets and seals. I didn't want to ship the trans so I asked him if I could throw it in the trunk of my other car and drive it out to him on a Saturday and pick it up at a later date, he said no problem. I get there and he pulls the side cover off and doesn't like what he sees so while I run out to get us lunch he proceeds to tear my trans completely down and do a full rebuild - how many guys would give you turn around service like that on a Saturday no less?

Jamie is top notch in my book!

Isn't it great to be comparing how good these guys are. My hat is off to both of them.

It feels good too.......
This post is completely opposite of most of the vendor recommendation threads on Moparts!

True, indeed, two quality outfits.

Unlike some other vendors that have their cheerleaders and their detractors, I have never heard a bad thing about either. If you flipped a coin whomever you came up with would be a good choice in this case.

While you might be able to search around for some of the stuff for less, you really won't save much and you will not have the excellent customer service and experience either of these outfits provide.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

I went with Brewers because they are so close to me. I was unable to find anything negative about either. The trans I bought from Brewers was excellent in appearance and function, he also gave me more than I expected on cores that i had traded in. I doubt you can go wrong either way.

Never dealt with Brewers previously but had great interaction with Jamie. I called one day to get info on getting my 833 done and no one answered. I figured we're all busy I'll just call back later. Jamie beat me to it and called back just on the caller ID to make sure I got what I needed. Probably won't have him rebuild my 4 speed and hold out for the new 5 speed to be developed but won't hesitate to get the new 5 speed.

I bought a set of 71 B-body shift rods from Brewers many years ago, and they were great to deal with.

HOWEVER...

Jamie has gone above and beyond the call of duty on more than one occasion for me.

Long story (kinda) short... lol
MANY years ago, I had a clutch issue that necessitated me pulling the trans out of my R/T. Since it was out, I contacted Jamie to see if I could have him look over it. I was a little rushed for time, as the clutch issue came at the worst possible time for me. Anyhoo, Jamie told me to stop by the shop on Sunday morning (I'm about 2 hours away). I get there, and he proceeds to pop the side cover off and give me an overall opinion of my trans' condition. Also while there, he proceeds to point out the common leak areas (while he's sealing them up for me) and he and his dad were absolutely GREAT to me. At the time, Jamie had just gotten the prototype aluminum 833 case done and left me check it out too. (yea this was THAT long ago...lol) Trans gets a clean bill of health, Jamie installs a new cover gasket and gives me new nuts for the shifter levers, since mine were pretty crappy. Trans is packed back up and I'm getting ready to leave. I ask Jamie what I owe him. His reply...."NOTHING. If I expected to any payment from you, I would have told you about it on the phone, before you drove all the way up here.. Word of mouth is my best advertisement"

This was on a SUNDAY. WHO does this on a SUNDAY?
Jamie also supplied a new gasket and sealed up any potential leak areas

And didn't ask for a penny.

That one instance sold me on Passon Performance, and I've been dealing with Jamie ever since. He's has been great with technical advice and parts (I broke a shift fork last year) and continues to impress me with his professionalism.

I've got nothing bad to say about Brewers...but Jamie will get my business for anything 833 related.

passon fixed up my E body trans. i took it up on a saturday morning and he tore it down right there. i went out to have lunch and when i got back he had it finished up! he did it the same day so i only had to make one trip.
and its worked great since. i have also baught a rebuild kit from him for another trans and he gave me some good tech advice on doing it myself.
never dealt with brewers though.

Can't comment on Brewers but Meet Jamie at Nat's Last year and did some work on one of my buddies Cuda Trany outstanding to deal with,When I put my hemi in my Duster Jamie got me all my hydrolic clutch parts along with my shifter,Had a issue with the hydrolic throw out bearing ,It was not Jamie fault at all but he took care of it no questions asked,He is also having a custom speed o cable made for me--I WEAR THE T_SHIRT HE GAVE ME AT NAT"S VERY PROUDLY and will forward any work I can to him!!! He does not make you feel like an A** when you ask him stupid questions--STEVE
