i had a 400 block and sold it.
so the 400 has a bigger bore than a 440? and would fit a little better in a A body ,that sounds like a pretty good deal! what would a shop normally charge to turn a 440 crank to use in a 400?

here is a little about a cast 440 crank in a 400. I have the whole article at home in an old CP issue. http://www3.sympatico.ca/big-d/460.htm

So you used stock cast 400 pistons? What all did you have to do to make them work?

400 or 440 rod?

Could you have stroked it to 3.90 and made it a 470?

Neat-0 motor build for sure.
