Does anyone out there have a good front end rebuild kit for a 1971 roadrunner? I saw one set on ebay for 200$. Thanks for the input.

DON"T BUY IT. Cheap made in China junk. I bought one. Had to replace most of it with real parts. Moog still makes all the front end stuff. Don't make the same mistake i did.

Just bought a complete MOOG set from Rockauto for my '66 Coronet. Ball joints, tie rod ends, upper and lower bushings, idler arm, link bushings. About $400.00. Great stuff. Don't buy cheap here.

You can't really go wrong with Moog parts, they are still the gold standard for OEM type suspension parts. Personally I like poly bushings for the upper control arms for the added stiffness. Poly can be used on the lowers if installed properly. Use the Moog heavy duty improved bushings for the strut rods. The strut rod bushings are very important for maintaining proper toe in, especially when using wider tires than original. Poly also works well for the anti-roll bars.

I am not a big fan of kits. For most people buying all Moog parts is probably the best way to go. As I said previously poly is OK for the uppers and can be used on the lowers with care. Kits offer ease of purchase, but the ball joints and tie rod ends aren't up to Moog standards.

Does moog have an overall kit? I don't want to buy parts individually.

I looked at rock auto and I didn't see a complete kit. Unless rock auto is cheaper than mancini, I'll probably end up going with mancini's super kit

Spicer parts are a step up from moog which are already great parts.

About 8 years ago I bought a P-S-T kit for my wifes duster back when they shipped with all polygraphite bushings, including for the LCA and couldnt be happier, but now that I've gotten into trucks and 4x4 stuff, Spicer is the WAY TO GO!

I thought a few people had complained on here that the moog control arm bushings are junk? Something about shriveling up after a few K miles..??

What about this set up?

http://www.performancesuspension.com/pro...roducts_id=5918

I bought this kit and it's made up of different brands. The urethane dust boots (and LCA bushings I think) are from Prothane, the sway bar end links are from Energy suspension, the idler arm from McQuay-Norris, the UCA bushings I forgot the brand (but I think Prothane as well), and the ball joints and tie rod ends are from a BAW. BAW is a Taiwanese company - the parts look very good (all have grease nipples) and beefy but I still wanted to find out more. So I googled a bit and found out that BAW is an OEM supplier for many major car manufacturers.. so quality seems to be alright.
Haven't tested the parts yet though.

btw many US companies get their stuff produced overseas, so buying any kit almost guarantees that you get stuff not made in the US for those who care - I don't as long as the quality is right!

Firm Feel offers a complete kit. Last time I looked, the hard parts were Moog with Moog or polyurethane bushings. Overall cost was competitive. As posted above, another good alternative is Mancini.

Moog is good, but I am a fan of spicer. Our shop switched from using moog, which I realy liked, to spicer. The end result was way less failed parts. Now I am a spicer fan.

Thanks for the input guys. So far I like mancini and their prices. I never knew about them until recently. My old man was ready to kick my [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean] when I told him that.

I like the super kit mancini is offering.
